Default SPF Wheel Pins

Need to pull front rotors. What is the best way to remove the five pins? Is it a 12 mm allen socket? SPF #2773 Jerry

I know it's metric, but I do not remember the size. I have the allen socket at home. If no one chimes in by the time I get home I will take a look at it.

You may also need the pin alignment tool to reinstall them. If not, there could be an issue putting the wheel back on.

Yes it's 12mm. A short length of tube that fits snug over the OD of the pins helps too.

Use a wrench, not an impact gun...you will balloon the ends out if you do (previous owner on mine did this, had to replace all of them with new).

Same with installing them....go carefully and in stages. They are fragile.

If you break/bend/distort one, it will cost you $9.95 each to replace them if you order them from SPF. I just had or order 20 of them....

When you get the pins adjusted to where you are happy with the fit-up, mark each hub with the location of the corrosponding wheels valve stem. Then the next time you remove the wheels, you can put them back on indexed to the same orientation. There are different opinions on how to use the alignment tool. Some say adjust the pins with the alignment template after they are all installed, some say tighten the pins with the alignment template installed. Perhaps try each method and see what works for you,
