Windshield replacement around Seattle
I'm the new owner of a 2005 black (no stripes) Superformance Cobra.
A gorgeous car, for sure! I haven't ridden it much, as it's not registered yet.
I put the soft top on yesterday, only to find a couple hours later that the windshield was cracked. No snap noise, just sitting in the garage. Duh... I knew the windshield was a weak point in those cars, but that's still a nasty surprise.
Anyhow, I've just order a polyglass replacement from Cobra Valley, but am bit wary about the replacement procedure...
Does anybody can recommend a garage or somebody in the Seattle area with experience replacing windshields?

The replacement is very easy. I am not a glass guy. The windshield is by far easier than the typical current production car.
I did mine last year in less than 1 hour. If interested I can give you the step by step.

I thought I had heard the Superformance cars had a different shaped windshield from most of the replicas and the standard WS wouldn't fit due to the raised bonnet? Something to check on if the WS hasn't shipped yet.

If you are a member of SCOF, there is a tech article on how to do this. As you have a newer chassis, there are a few caveats around the center support to be aware of.
If you are not with SCOF, it's well worth the $$$ IMO for the tech articles alone....

I've seen a post somewhere on clubcobra that describes much of the process, but I'm still uneasy about the removal of the cracked windshield from the frame, mostly.
(Bob: the polyglass I've ordered is specifically for later generation Superformance cars, so hopefully it shouldn't be a problem)
Side question: how fast can I drive with a cracked windshield???

Call your insurance company.
Replacement is covered by your comprehensive coverage. Subject to your deductible, of course. If your comp deductible is more than $100, you might want to change it. A windshield retails for over $400 from Hillbank. And installation costs a few hundred more.
Find a glass shop that handles high end cars. Then put their number in your speed dial. My car is two and a half years old and is on its third windshield. First one broke all by itself. A rock took out the second one. Get used to it.

There is a glass shop here in Puyallup (Safelite I think) that has replaced two windshields on Superformance cobras for me. They are located at 126th and Meridian. They are very good indeed. For a new windshield and install it will run almost $1,000. Insurance will usually cover the entire bill.

Thanks Jake,
Exactly what I was looking for.
As I wrote, I ordered the replacement windshield already, to I'll check with the Puyallup guys how much they'd take to install it.
