Local Hurricane

Anyone around here with a Hurricane I could take a look at?

I am deciding on what kit to build at this point.

Thanks in advance

Gig Harbor

The only one I am aware in the NorthWest was built by Jim Durham in Gig Harbor, WA. I believe Jim sold the car and we've lost track of it since then. You'll see posts by Jim occasionally here and also on the Hurricane Forum under the user name "JWD"

Next closest ones are going to be in the Los Angeles area or Wyoming

Give a call to Dusty at the plant and he may have something to add

hurricane

We went down and looked at the Hurricane Cobra. We have looked at a few others but the Hurricane was far better. Steve and Dusty are great people. We have not purchased yet but it will be the Hurricane that I purchase. I drove the Hurricane that they have at the shop and was very impressed. Definitely check them out before making a purchase.

Well they were the ones who put me off FFR. I love the originality. The FFR with the perky butt and high roll bar just look wrong to me.

Swashplate,

I have one other car in WA that I am trying to contact the owner now. If he is willing I will have him contact you.

Thanks
Dusty

Thanks Dusty! That would be so kind!

I have had such a good response to my post. This is a great forum!

There is a guy in Centralia Illinois Dean Lampe goes by Dlampe here. He has built 2 or 3 Hurricanes and is avid about Cobras Im am sure he would be of much help to you. He is a top flight builder. I almost bought his last one but couldn't swing it at the time

You've made a good choice in cars!

Swashplate,

I would also suggest looking at Superformance. I can tell you that Jim from Gig Harbor who had the Hurricane was also a big fan of Superformance. I have owned 2 of them and can't say enough good stuff about them. If you decide to consider a Superformance I would be glad to have you down to my place and I can walk you through the entire car and take you for a drive.

Best Regards, Jake

Ditto what Jake says, and the FFR perky butt comment. LoL. But I'd gladly take a FFR to the track any day.

Superformance is a repeatable factory quality built Cobra from the birth, and has all the FFR performance qualities, and the body about as close to the authentic CSX body contours since their MkIII Cobra was copied kinda 2nd generation from the original CSX-3045 via CCX.

Superformance History:
Superformance Owners Forum's SUPERFORMANCE NEWS

Of course CSX-3045 was recently sold on the blocks for $2 million:

Cobra Country seems to get some nice snakes too:

Good luck!

Thanks. Being a young single chap makes the decision making easy. I have no boss to answer to ;)

I agree and I like the level of quality the superformance. But I want to build my own. That to me will be just as thrilling as driving it.

Now, that being said I have never been in any cobra of any sort. So if you would be so kind as to take me for a spin, that would be highly appreciated.

Thanks for all of the feedback. This stuff is all such a good read. Yea, I know ive been told that buying someone elses project is cheaper but I tend to be rather particular.

A pic I figured would be of interest. The M has been lowered since and the rubber widened.

All we need is some dry roads. Could be July : )
