Thanks Roger
I kept meaning to ferrett all that stuff out of the big list, but my eyes rolled back in my head every time I started to do it. Nice of you to dig it all out. See you soon.

Bish,
I left the Valley run to Zillah on the list for the group that likes to visit wineries in eastern Washington. You think they would be open for this event.

Closed Wineries
If any Wineries find out Kieth Vincent is nearby they automatically close or go out of business.

Last year was my first year getting connected with the NWCC guys and the < http://www.clubcobra.com> web site. Based on my experience with the guys and the site I found myself asking for more of a community for the NW region. I am a member of the Ferrari club ( < http://www.ferrariclub.com>) which has built up quite a community for the NW region. They even have
there own monthly newsletter. This is something that I thought
would be cool to setup.
Questions that I kept asking, as well as others that I bumped into...
1. Is there a central calendar that I can look at for events that the
folks are going to...
2. We tend to take polls with regard to who is going to events so that we can reserve spaces...
3. Who are these guys and can I give them a call in need of technical advise.
4. If we do a number of drives this year it would be cool to have if on the calander, sponsor details and maps...
I like the Club Cobra site and certainly don't want to take anything away from the site - but it is difficult to do allot of these things, as well as build a community like < http://www.ferrariclub.com>.
So I have been experimenting with Yahoo Groups... It is free, hidden from the public and anyone can sign up. It provides a membership list, calendar, support for polls, chat, support for publishing newsletters, etc...
I created one for the NW Cobra site and before going full speed on the content I thought I would seek your thoughts....
Here is a link to subscribe.
What I would like to do is get all of the events into the central calendar. Yahoo also supports a location to post photos. It would be cool to post photos of each event in a central location for all to look at.

YAHOO!
Stephen,
I went ahead and registered for your (our) NWCobraClub Yahoo group. What the heck, it was painless since I already have a MyYahoo handle established. Now what?

I agree it would be nice to take the next step as Northwest Cobra enthusiasts and get a little more organized. I think the right thing to do is ask Brent if he feels this is something that ClubCobra could do. I would hate to dilute the focus people have on ClubCobra after all the hard work and money Brent has spent on this site.
If Brent feels this is something that ClubCobra is not suited for and he doesn’t have a problem with a site focusing solely on northwest activities then I say “let’s go for it!”
Either way, do you think you can get a feeling for what direction you want to go with this over the internet or would it be best to get together in person? This is quite an eclectic group and it would be interesting to see what is important to the members.

My plan orginally was to ask the members what they thought at our first meeting in March. But then the schedule was posted - this e-mail thread - and folks were asking about when the runs might be scheduled so I figured I would introduce some of the work that I have been doing.
I couldn't agree with you more with regards to NOT deluting the Club Cobra site. Definately not my intent at all. It still serves as a community that I visit at least three times a day.
When Brent sent out e-mail last year requesting suggestions when he changed over to a different hosting environment, I did send him e-mail describing some of the things that I described earlier in the thread. In fact we do have calendars now - but again they are global to the site.
If Brent things he could accomodiate the notion of creating community - it sounds great. Don't want to duplicate efforts.

Stephen,
I think Roger is correct. There NO question it would be nice to get more organized, but as he says we should really run it by Brent first. If I recall, we talked about this when we met at Alki for Pizza last fall and obviosly nothing has come of it other than making sure the "events" calendar got put on the board. Brent has worked long and hard to get CC where it is and I would hate for it to get fractured. There is also an events calendar on the home page. What did you have in mind that we are not doing now? If you could see my desk you would know that I search in vain for orgnization so I would like to hear more of what you have in mind.

Hey there, I represent that remark.
I'll let you know that Ol Waldo has gotten turned on to Tucker Cellars wines and we may need AA to get he and the misses off that good sauce. They are ordering by the case and Tuckers may need to step up production just to satisfy them alone. May if you were the vino type you could appreciate some of the finer things in life,Hmmmm like Ford power! Ha
Just don't let Deni know that I said that first stuff. I'm still afraid of her.
see ya on th 23rd

My 2 cents / opinion
Is to keep it casual......this is way more fun than a club with officers and positions etc... it's alway more fun if you keep it a bit loose and informal. Look forward to meeting with all the NW cobra folks and having some fun this summer...right now I am in the process of gathering my A$$ kicking stereo components for my snake. It will all be factory installed.
See you sometime this summer

Dyno Testing
I proposed this last year with little interest.
Carburetor Connection (its not far from the Redhook Brewery) will open on Saturday afternoons for dyno testing. We would have to have at least six cars and it cost about $60.00 for five to six pulls. Something to talk about on the 16th?

You guys ever visit the Texas or Arizona sites? Granted they have the weather, but they get together, it seems. H*%% they even have "logos" etc., available.
Maybe it is just me but N'westers as a whole don't seem to get into this-- am I wrong here or what?

G.R.
It seems the only way that people in the Northwest will get together is with their Cobras. With the long season of rainy weather, this really limits the opportunities and it seemes no one wants to drive to an meeting in their daily drive. That is except Walt! He is living proof it can be done.
