Default FRS Radios

Got an e-mail from Keven Echols (aka Blue Cobra) saying he had 4 or 5 FRS radios that he was going to bring along and distribute. I have a couple of them too, they have a range of about a mile. You all might think about getting a couple of them. I got them at Radio Shack for about $30 (marked down from $59) each. Mine came with a head set and mic and the ability to select 14 channels. They work as an intercom in the car too, rather than shouting over the sidepipes.

Those of us (the few, the proud) who drive the more genteel, civilized version of the cobra (the one without those rude sidepipes) have no need for head sets to converse in a moderate and again, civilized tone while underway.

Cheerie By!

Talking FRS on the way

For what it is worth, Amazon has the highly rated Kenwood UBZGR14MBK Metallic Blue FreeTalk 2-Way Radio w/ FM Stereo & Headphones on sale now for $34.95. Just orded one for the trip.

I'll just pull up next to Walt when I want to chat with him...

This is going to be great.... it will be the first time I've heard a stereophonic sound under power (other than the side pipes).

Rich, your rather pathetic attempt at drollosityness, has inadvertently coined a nugget of sheer brilliance..."SLAB LORD"... I like it!

I hereby, will no longer answer to "Slab Boy"... from now it's "Slab Lord"...or maybe "Lord of Slab"...or perhaps "Slab Man"... then again...

Now if you'll excuse me I hear the tea whistle.

Talking I know I shouldn't

Well I sat in front of the keyboard for many minutes trying to decide whether I should hold back...... but.... but..... I can't resist, hehe

Walt,

I know we've never met but I just can't resist

(Note: the word "Skinny" could be substituted for "Slender" if you choose)

I hereby, will no longer answer to "Slab Boy"... from now it's "Slender Lord"...or maybe "Lord of Slender"...or perhaps "Slender Man"...

I am surrounded by infidels...with keyboards. Since I have to live with you 427 people, I will respectfully withdraw to my tea, tweeds and bud vase.
I am now and always shall be...

Slab MAN!

Cool Infidels, how dare you!

Infidels.... "come to the wide side my friend!"

Is a bud vase the same as a beer stein?

Bud = as in "this Bud's for you"
Vase = jug or bottle

It's just gotta be!

Slab lord...That's funny!

Looking forward to hooking up with everyone. Motor has been fired, engine bay pretty well finished, and interior is really all that's left. Have you ever started a project you wish you hadn't?

Holy Cow,

Is that Brent Mills? Glad you have "fire in the hole" amigo. What's a little interior work. And why cover up all that lovely aluminum?

The aluminum IS the interior work. Get'n rid of the carpet and fluff and mak'n it more like the race car it should be.
