two summer rides
Walt "Slab Daddy" Tomsic, The "Bishop of the North" Wheeler, and at least a ferw others are going on a couple of rides this summer. I had intended to get this information out sooner, but.... something is always going on.
1st Ride
Cobra's To Port Townsend
Saturday morning July 13th. We are meeting the the Gig Harbor weight station. It is 1 mile from the Narrow Bridge on Highway 16. Time (9:00 +/-) and extra info to follow. We will set up a time and meeting point for anyone who wants to take one of the ferries, (either Bremerton or Bainbridge Island). Sumpin' like Silverdale area.
2nd ride
Walt's Great Escape
August 10th According to Slab Daddy we are going from Issaquah XXX Drive in. Over Snoqualmie Pass to E-burg, down the old narrow valley road to Yakima, and home over Chinook and Cayuse, to the King County Fair Grounds. He said all can be done in 1 day.
I of course will be offering a long and drawn out tour or wineries in the greater Yakima area. First preference will be those no longer in business.
3rd trip ???
Based on the schedules of the three of us we are looking into early September while the weather is nice to get in one more.
Keith, Walt and Bish

Hey Ren Man.
I'll be in Georgetown at the end of October. Hope the summer riding season will not be over. Hmmm, just thinking as to what I'm going to tell my wife. Hey, wait... She will be in Houston at a business convention. Keep one for me. I can't decide whether I like blue or purple.
By the way, Walt, Patti never needs to see this!!!!

Steve, pick your weekend. This far in advance it should be something we can all fit in. I would think a drive to Leavenworth would be a blast.

Wait, wait, wait,
Who do the Huskies play that weekend? THere are a few things more important than a danged old car ya know.
Bish
Never mind, I'm good to go where ever you guys point. Leavenworth is cool. I'm sure Vincent can find a closed winery or an empty wine bottle over there too.

Good idea. I'm on it, Bish. I'll get a Leavenworth Chamber of Commerce book and see if I can find some business that has closed down in the last year.
Have you ever been thru the Applets and Colets factory in Cashmere?? Free samples!!
It doesn't qualify, however, as they are still in business. still..... we could always get there just after they closed. Hmmmm, I'll check their hours.

Yo. Bishop. I have been gone for most of the last three weeks. I'm still out of town but will be back tuesday evening. We had discussed leaving the Gig Harbor weight station at about 9:00 am. Slab Lord was going to pick out a meeting location and time so anyone that wished to cross on a ferry could meet us in the Bremerton (Poulsbo) area. This ride was going to be a simple ride to Port Townsend for a lunch, shopping for the S.O. then home again. Nice drive and the weather is looking good so far. Not much in the way of maps should be needed, however I will bring some photo copies of the actual route we are going to go, both ways are a little different. I expect money bags will be doing a follow along with the Bullitt Mustang again. He keeps asking if we are going to do a poker run. Told him NO. Greedy kid!!
I'll call you on Wednesday AM just to touch base.

My back started to go south on me again today, but I will still plan on showing up for the run. Meeting at the Gig Harbor weight station will be fine for me. My son will be in from Montana so I will have him riding shot gun. I have next years Cobra planned out so will show it to everyone at Bish's shin ding.

Pt Townsend run
Gonna do my best to make the run. Still not sure, but think I can. Where is the weigh station? Is it 1 mile West of the bridge (I would assume that) or is it on the East side? Jay and Dolly said thay may take the Bremerton Ferry on the way back and I'm thinking that would not be a bad idea. Living in Mount Vernon adds 170 miles (round trip to Gig Harbor) to the run for me.
Bish
BTW Brent, it was great to see you guys yesterday. Your car sure sounded good. I hope that $10k you dumped into the motor means it will run for ever.

Bish, It is 1 mile on the gig harbor side. I'm not sure what ferry to take. I have not make the run to know when we should meet you. What ferry would you need to take to get to the Silverdale mall area by 10:00 +/-. Call ya Wednesday AM.

To all...
Just talked to Keith (he calls me from Maui, the b#*tard). Anyway, we talked about the run on Saturday and here's the plan. Those going by way of Highway 16 and the Narrows, meet at the weigh station. We'll leave there at 9 am. Those going by ferry to Bainbridge or Kingston can link up at the Silverdale Barnes & Noble (3108 NW Randall, near the Mall). We'll leave there at 10 am and head north on SR-3 to Hood Canal and on to Port Townsend.
Walt
