Tim,
It was great meeting you and your dad, and of course talking with you about my upcoming project. Your car is outstanding and I really enjoyed checking it out and see what it feels like sitting behind the wheel!!!
thanks again for setting up the tickets - hopefully next year I'll have something to put in the corral.

Tim:
Super day, thanks to you...You must know the right people to get the Cobra Corral moved from the hitherlands to up behind the timing tower. Great exposure for the group.
Thanks again to you and your Dad for a special day, and letting the wife lead the group onto the parade lap in the little 289..

Historic Races Corral
Wow - can't believe only 4 or 5 Cobras showed up! Doesn't sound like anybody "got the word out" to all those who were there last year on how to participate. I think we had 10-12 cars there last year didn't we?
Sure would have liked to have been there! Guess I'm not one of the "in"
crowd in this club that gets notified of these things. Maybe someone didn't want my car there?

I believe if you look back on prior posts Tim made the first announcement on April 9th. Being new I am not sure about prior notices for this event, but this forum seems like the best and most accountable method for keeping everyone informed on Cobra gatherings.

Tim,
Thanks for your efforts to organize this gathering. I would love to attend next year when I better dam well have my car.
Mike

289cobra:
You are always welcome to Club Cobra events, as are others. About the first of April, each year, scan the NW Cobra Club posts by "RED ERA". Tim has graciously been the point person between us and and the Promotion Company. Hope to see you next year at PIR.

289,
I would have loved to see your awesome Cobra again. There is no real notice list, I think everybody just kinda checks the forum from time to time.
It was nice to see some of the members again, I hope to have another snake on the road soon.

Historics 2002
I had a great time visiting and meeting all of you.
289cobra there is no "in" crowd here. I have a blast a this event and the more cobra's we have the better. I have announced it through the NW cobra club every year I have done this. If you have a suggestion I would love to here it because I would love to get participation up. Everyone is invited. No intent to exclude or hurt anyones feelings. It is a great event.
Sandy from campbell productions has treated us well. She gave us a prime spot this year. Right in the middle of the pit near the tower. Lots of activity, in the middle of the pits and close to the track.
Scott
It was nice to meet you and talk cobras. Have fun making your selection and doing the engine build. Dreaming, making the decisions , Building, and driving are all fun experiences.
Jerry and Joy,
I always have a great time visiting with you. I am anxious to see what they add to your trophy/plate collection next year . Jerry stay healthy and I will see you both next year. I enjoyed having you guys lead our parade laps.
Jerry and Joy Won the Best of show for our group. (Second year in a row). Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!
M&M
I hope to see you and your cars next year

PIR Cobra Corral Ideas
Red ERA:
At the 2001 Historic Races - someone in the club came around with a sign up sheet - that could/should have been used to contact EVERYONE who was there in 2001 to see if they wanted to come to the 2002 event.
Here's some ideas for future reference:
1) You should post your "announcement" of the event on several of the Club Cobra forums, don't just limit it to the NW Cobra Club forum. There are several that make sense in that regard ie. "General Cobra talk", etc
2) The pictures you just posted only to the NW Cobra CLub forum should also be posted to the "Club Gaterings/Events" Section of the CLub Cobra Photo Gallery (with comments), so a wider audience can get exposure to "our" participation at the event. When I posted my photos from last year - they got lots of attention. That would also be a good place to post a "notice" regarding next year's event.... how about uploading a digital photo of the registration form into the gallery with due dates, costs, rules, etc.

Next time...
Sorry we didn't make it down this year. Being car-less in the summer is torchure! I'm surprised Scott didn't put a couple of snake emblems on the old T/A and put it in the corral!
Just a little tidbit from last year... On the Saturday parade lap, I was behind Scott and Joy/Jerry. After a few taps on the loud pedal and as we cued to exit the track, Joy lights them up big time. ! (Unassuming Jerry and Joy!) We all return to the parking area and a few minutes later a woman comes running over looking for "those loud cars." This group always makes an impression.
Next year, with the 40!

I do hope you can make it next year and gather up some of the guys from the north. I stayed in Issaquah a couple of weeks ago when I went up to the Historic races . Beautiful area. It was a nice cruise up there and had a great time at the races. It is hard going through the summer without a toy. I did that last summer.
Take care
Tim
