OK, that's it! I refuse to participate it light of Bob P's uncalled for verbal abuse.
Just kidding, I've endured far worse for far longer. However, we do have to pull out... the new house is under way and we have to go down to Bend and meet with our contractor.
Have fun... we'll miss ya... but I'm sure you'll all find a way to muddle through without us.

I knew it!!!! You're still just shuckin' and jivin' me Tomsic. I've never seen your car. I don't believe it exists. This story you've got is an elaborate hoax, designed to victimize me. Next thing you know we'll find out you're a closet Hillary supporter!!
Sorry you two can't make it. We'll hoist one fer ya.

I prefer 8:30 but will go with the flow if 7:30 is best.

Oh crap...a "Wally"?
I'm pulling a... I gotta get some work done at the cabin and stop driving the damn Cobra every weekend before winter or I'm in deep Wally with the Mrs., who wants power and water and some sort of indoor waste disposal system. Some people are so unreasonable.
You guys have fun!

Bob, now you've really gone too far! I would sooner be strapped in an uncomfortable chair with my eyelids stapled to my forehead while forced to watch back-to-back showings of "The English Patient" for all eternity than support that scurrilous bi#*h!
You'll have to excuse me now, I have to go lie down, put my feet up and try to get my blood pressure back down to a safe level.
Oh, and by-the-way, I hope that "pull a Wally" thing doesn't catch on.

How come when Bish bails it's not known as "pulling a Bish"...
or when Rich drops out it's not known as "pulling a Rich"...?
There can be only one reason... the rampant bias, rife within this organization directed at devotees of the Slab! Yes, what we have here is blatant Slab discrimination and abuse!
Hmmm, I wonder if I now qualify for some sort of government assistance?
Soon to be "Slabless Daddy"
Take heart, you will, in the near future, be able to take shots at...
"Chevy powered, Healey, Nastyboy...Daddy"

Now Walter, you must learn to share the burden. Everyone knows that Bish is our weather curse, he's the "Old Faithful" of congering foul weather. That's enough of a burden for any one man. And Rich, well, look at his pitiful excuse, a mere variation on yours. Obviously he followed the tone you set. Personally, I think you should take this honor in stride. Since you're obviously bailing on us, we'll at least have "pullin' a Wally" as a perpetual monument of sorts to your one time presence. Notice that I refrained from converting it to the "memorial pullin' a Wally". Most people would be happy with that!!
As for your pathetic paranoia about "Slab Envy" I'm reminded of a procedure we had in the Military. Take your T.S. card to the Chaplain to have it punched! Besides, remember, I've never seen you and your car in the same place. I still don't believe it's yours.

Roberto P...
who said anything about bailing...!? I plan to hang with this bunch of coconuts till toes up time. I'll just name the Healey "CSX 1999". It was, after all, Ol Shel's first idea for the Cobra. Consider me there for historical reference purposes.
Now that I think of it... I've never actually seen you in and driving your 'alleged' car. For all I know you might be one of those wankers who hangs around a car at a show and pretends to be the owner. Hmmm... I'll bet you actually showed up in that rat rod #42 at Puyallup, and just parked it by the red FIA... ya... that's the ticket!

Well Walt, you've found me out. That's why you're the ultra successful college prof, and I'm just an unemployed, high school drop out. You're right, I've been following that good lookin' stud around for a few years now, doin' the poseur thing. Basking the while!!
As memory serves, at last year's Bish Bash, I was following my idol while you were driving Deni's MIATA!?!?! Dare say, that Miata with the Cobra-esque body kit at Puyallup wasn't yours was it?

Are you guys still here? Haven't you left for Winthrop yet?
On a semi-serious note...I saw on the news this morning that Mazama might be evacuated due to a fire. Mazama's about 15 miles west of Winthrop.
From National Fire News; "Needle (Okanogan/Wenatchee National Forest): 15,000 acres at zero percent contained. This fire is in timber, 22 miles northwest of Winthrop. Extreme fire behavior was observed as the fire entered Driveway Creek and spotted into the lower Rattlesnake drainage. All hiking trails in the area are closed. Structure protection is in place for 100 residences."
Here's the National Fire News web site:

Hmmmmmmm. Thanks for the heads up Rich.
Stephen may have to revise the back leg of the trip if it continues to burn out of control.

Numbers are dwindly down and we have a fire that is fairly close. The roads are few on the back side. Would anyone have any objections to cancelling this trip?
I am willing to make a go of it - but I want to make sure everyone is safe and not breathing smoke on the way up.

I just spoke with the Winthrop Inn. They say the fire is not posing a problem. They have a 24 hour cancellation policy. Lets take a roll call and make a decision by thursday. Jay

Pat, my wife, and I are still in but I'm more concerned about the weather than the fire. I have been looking at the long range weather forcasts and it looks okay beginning Saturday. I will check in on the roll call Thursday.
I was really looking forward to being a part of the largest collection of horse power in Winthrop since the last Rodeo round-up.
