Wait guys,
Can't use the express lanes if you are solo. I would just go 405 to get past the Seattle mess. Bellevue is a mess too, just not as bad. Really, REALLY try to get to the north end by 2 and barring a wreck, you'll move right along.

Express lanes OK for solo.....
Bish -
Express lanes are fine for the solo driver........ Agree with getting North by 2:00.......
Mike, if you can hit Lynnwood by 2:00, you will do just fine.....barring the unforseen....

LOL, you can tell I'm a country bumpkin. Got the express lanes confused with the HOV lanes.
Mike you'll do fine no matter when you hit SEA, just may be a lttle slower after 3.

HOV = High Output Vehicle lanes
I will just put a sign on the back of the trailer "Big Block Cobra inside" and that should do it!

Mike
Whenthe time comes call me. Walter would love to buy you a beer in Tacoma and we can all miss the traffic. We can all tell some JCF stories and after 3 or 4 beers we can get down to the truth.

KDV,
Why don't you all spend the night here. I have a number of beds and Mike will have a Motor Home full o beds. We can all go down to the Big Lake Bar and Grill and do the 50'/60's scene. They love Cobras there and it's only 2 miles (by the back roads ) back to my place.

Point Roberts
Hey Bish,
We might be able to accommodate a number of you folks on your way there or on your way back for a BBQ and overnight for at least two couples - bring nothing but smiles and a cobra - we'll supply the rest...
...we can provide completely safe parking with a view money can't buy - might work for ya

Too Funny
Keith,
As I started reading your post, I hear Tom Jones on TV in the background, he started singing the old Three Dog Night Song.............. "mama told me not to come!" Could this be a premonition? I might be singing that song before all the beer buying is over in the North!
I saw Walt's post to attend the trip, I assume you are too?
Mike

Well shades of the "Hatfields and the McCoys"! Just got my latest issue of AutoWeek and noted in the "Events" section..."Aug. 1-4, Thunder in the Mountains Vette Show, Whistler, British Columbia." Let's try to play nice now people (read, Fred!)

Which Fred are you refering to. I have to be nice to the vette owners since the wife bought one. Some peoples kids never learn. Lets see she got it in Feb and she has already put 400 miles on it. Sure hope none of those chebby worms jump over to the Cobra, I have a hard enough time keeping up with my own tire worms...

Anything I say or do will get you MILEAGE.
My motto since the vette came to live at HER house is "Its easier to stay in the DOG HOUSE than it is to get out".

Ron,
Probably the Best Western Cotton Tree Inn is your best bet in town or the Hillside Motel which is just before you get to town. The Cotton Tree has a well lit parking lot. Phone is360 424 4287. The Hillside is secluded if you prefer to have the snake off the beaten path. Phone is 360 445 3252.
Why don't you just come to my place and stay here? Mike McManus (M&M) is doing that. We plan on visiting the Big Lake Bar and Grill, which is just down the road, for a few brews on Friday night. The band starts at 9:30. What time do you think you will be getting up this way?

Perry,
I guess we need to figure out where we are going to meet up with you guys. Or are we just going to meet you in Whistler, which doesn't seem like a lot of fun.
We are going to take Hwy 9 to Sumas and cross into Canada there, then Hwy1 to Horeshoe Bay. Is there some where along that route that you want hook up?.
I think we will launch out of Mount Vernon at 0800 unless there is great objection to that. Means the guys to the south will have to get there butts out of bed a little earlier for a change.

Hey Bish,
We'll tag up along the way. Jay lives near the Sumas border so he'll be along Sumas way. I'll catch you in Surrey at the 176 st exit. Should be a blast with that may cobra's. We'll check cell #'s and details closer to the weekend.
Perry.
