Fruity Bow Tie
Its about 3am on Good Friday in Pine Village on the Wenatchee River... when I am awakened from a deep sleep and pleasant dream(s) where folks are flying around on their personal helicopters (a Sedgway sort of thing). Brrrrr, its cold!
Suddenly I realize that the helicopter sounds are still there. Seconds stretch into minutes, then minutes into hours as I lay there trying to figure out what in the H@!! they would be doing in the dark working (or searching) with what sounded like more than one helicopter. Damn they're close..... I don't see any search lights. I don't hear search dogs or rescue workers.
Ahhh..... dawn finally breaks and I'm up, out, and on the hunt. Alas!!! Within 1/4 mile of our camp site sits an orchard..... and the 30' diameter frost fans fired up due to the freezing temperatures.... That explains the whirring sound of the blades. But the motors... what the H@!!? At the base of each fan tower sits a little hut with dual exhaust. Inside hides a S/B Bow Tie pumping power through a drive train to run the huge fans.... Finally I have figured it out..... peace returns, but 2 more sleepless nights await me.
But most importantly, I have finally found that there is a good use for a Bow Tie motor. Bish... your future hides in the apple orchards of eastern Washington!!!
Ahhhhh, camping don't get no better than this!!

OMG, it's so nice to know that there really is a future for me and my little Bow Tie air pump, and that is; to awaken people who are crazy enough to go camping at this time of year!!

Ernie,
That blue paint makes it tricky to spot those Ford motors when you are snorkeling. Look for the chain running up to the boat, that's the easiest way to find them.
Cheers

Hey Mike,
You're my kind of guy. All up and down Puget sound, when you see a boat at anchor, the anchor will proudly bear the Bue Oval.

You know I really liked this thread because it was nice seeing a "limp wristed" title associated with the engine I love to hate.

Now Ernie,
I know you are looking for your next Cobra. What if the perfect car, in the perfect colors, at the perfect price came along and it had, HORRORS, a well turned out, flat out going SOB of a CHEBBY in it. You know that your power worries are over and dependabilty will be way up. What will you do, what WILL you do? Enquiring minds want to know.
