Exclamation SOVREN Historics sign-up

Okay, it's time to sign-up (and give me money) for the Car Corral at the SOVREN Historics Vintage Race on July 4-6. You also have to decide what day(s) you are attending.

See this thread for details: SOVREN Historics

For race info:
http://www.sovren.org

How about a June 1st deadline for signing up?

Fred, they have promised to do a better job on the parade laps this year.

Rich

I'm there. As I recall most everyone shows up on Saturday, but I'll take tickets for both days.

What about a get-together next weekend (6/7-8)? Whoever wants to do the Historics can show up and give me money.

Pick a place...I'll go where ever.

It's this weekend, so short notice, but I ran across this at another "un-named" vehicle forum? I'll explain later. Don't know that I can make it with the Cobra, but it sounds like a good cause, and I'm sure a Cobra would be a major score for their show.

Todd

Dear Car Enthusiasts:

I'm a senior at Auburn High School, and my class is putting on a benefit car show on Saturday, May 31st. We are open to all classes of vehicles, and hope to have a good family friendly and fun event. We have interest already from several hot rod clubs, a subaru club, BMW club, and other individuals, and it would be as many show worthy cars as possible. Admission and registration is completely free, and the only money involved will be for concessions and donations for a young cancer patient named Katie West (you may have seen her story on the local news). EVERY PENNY we earn will be donated to help her single mother pay her bills. If you want any more information about Katies situation, or the car show, please visit our website at http://auburnhigh.cjb.net If you have any questions please fill out the form on the site, or email me at auburncar@yahoo.com

Hope to see some of you there!

Rich

Next weekend sounds good to me, the weather man even said it should be dry that day. You just have to come up with a time and place. We could aways meet at the burger place you and Zderf always go to.

Hoping to get the motor back this weekend from Ted King at Portland Engine Rebuilders and crossing my fingers that this turns out better than my last motor built by Jim Green's, who doesn't seem to know how to build FE's.....Could be just my experience, but two rebuilds by that shop and 600 miles seems like a good indicator that they don't know what they're doing. Anyway, I'm not bitter.

If all goes as planned, I should be spending the weekend getting the new engine tucked away in it's rightful place....Wish I could be hanging with you fellas.

Hey Guys,

A suggestion if you want to gather on Sunday, 6/8.
At Lake Sammamish State Park (Issaquah) there will be a multi-faceted event. There's a laid back "car show" on the grass, limited hydros will be running on the lake, and there will be a food fair (some of it very, very good) up and down the shore. Lot's of entertainment for munchkins for those who've got 'em and want a family kind of day.

Hey Rich, had a ball this past Sat. My son can't stop talking about the tunnel and the sound of 4 Cobras accelerating thru. Anyhow XXX was great but unfortunately if it is on Sat 6/7 I have to bow out. It's Keith's Graduation and the little Lady will be having no part of car stuff going on at least not on Sat. I'll give you a holler maybe later in the week and see how it all pans out.

Bob,
Who is sponsoring the event on Sunday? Tell me more. If there were people that show up to look around are they charged?

Roger

Roger,
The car show part is put on by three drunk car guys I know, there is a modest entry fee for cars, but not spectators.

The limited hydro stuff is put on by the APBA, no charge.

The food fair I think is done by the Issaquah CC, no charge unless you order food at one of the stands..............and I'd even let you buy my lunch! What a deal, huh??

Okay, it's looking like Saturday isn't going to work for me. How about Sunday at Lake Sammamish State Park?

Bob, what time?

Rich,

Typically these things open around 8:00 am, though I don't think I'll get there much before 9:00. We'll probably leave somewhere around 2:00. I don't think we need to park together, though that could probably be arranged if the first one there wants to try to stake out space. In the past they've tried to fill it in an as arrive basis. Either way, there are tables, and if we want to gather round one of those for the "business" part that should work fine.
