Well it looks as if the 2003 Montana run went well (as it did). We all seemed to enjoy ourselves, even if the weather was a bit warm at times.
I was just curious if there were any ideas out there for '04. I think i heard an idea of maybe heading south. I know it's early but this next trip may help me decide what's going to happen to the NITEMAR. I guess Freds been told by "high command" that he can't head up the 2004 run. So it looks like we need a new leader for 2004!
If people have ideas let's start bringin' em out!

What color Bullitt do you have? I'm looking to buy a black one but the closest one I can find forsale is in LA (CA) and I'm a few $$$ short right now. Have you been to www.imboc.com and listed your car in the registry?

I liked Steve's idea of going south and riding the jet boats, or lets head back to Canada say to Jasper and then on down to Baniff.

I'd like the group to make some noise about how long of a trip they are interested in. How many miles? How many days? Who might have a suggestion of a specific location in mind?
I couldn't go this year because of a specific schedule issue. I'd like to plan for next year early.

By the way, were the woods around Glacier Park already burning? Or did Kevin's burnout in that parking lot start the whole thing?

Glad you guys had a good time.
My holiday schedule was full so couldn't make it. Kieth is right a longer lead time would help. I would like to see a trip south, maybe down the coast, through N Cal or over to Reno/Tahoe,lots of options there.
Perry.

To all that want a longer lead time.
How long of a lead time would you need? Last years post was made on Sept 1st, that would have given you 9 1/2 months to plan. Some typical response was thats way next year, its to early to plan for that, when it gets closer I will let you know,I can't go this year as my calender is booked for that week. Some people will never have enough time to plan and then there is always the unexpected that comes up. I think you just need to plan on going and if something comes up oh well.
I will be going next year where ever that may be, now if I can just convince the FE to stay together for the whole vacation.

I think down the coast would be a great idea. Like Perry said there are lots of choices that way. And maybe if we have time Walt might like to stop in Coos Bay. Well no matter where we go, as long as there is no snow "knock" "knock", Stina and I should have a great time. KEEP THE IDEAS FLOWIN'!!!

We had such a great time on the Whistler trip I can't wait for a longer road trip. I agree with going south down the coast and think 7 days is just about right.

Between all the people that went I know there are a bunch of people that took group pics of either the cars or the folks that went. Like the Eagle over the car or the group pic at the vineyard... I was really hoping that if you had some of those pictures you could e-mail them to me. FUSBLR@AOL.COM
THANK YOU! Craig

I hear you guys, but 7 days is just too long. I can't take that much time off and Lady Di won't go on that long a trip. 3, maybe 4 days to one destination, like Whistler is about all I can handle. I love driving the Cobra, but not endurance runs. I like the idea of going to a cool place like Whistler or say Cannon Beach and spening a couple of days enjoying "being" there.
My $.02 worth.

Pic's
Craig,
I'm just about to return from a couple weeks of vacation, I will sift through the 400MB+ of pictures from the trip and email you some of them. I also will try to post some of the best here on the web, but the file size allowed is so small it is very time consuming to modify each pic down to the acceptable size.
We still vote for the longer than a weekend trip for the biggie summer Cobra ride. This way we can get out of town quite a ways, and not feel like all we did was drive. 6-7 days works pretty good for us since once you find a sitter for a couple nights you might as well make it a week.

Hey fellas...
let me toss this idea out... how about a first leg to Cannon Beach, a second day further south on the coast with another night at say Lincoln City or Newport. Next day over to Sun River Resort for two nights. Tons to do there and some great short loop drives of 20 - 30 miles in length nearby. We'll be in our new house in Bend by then and can host a BBQ (sorry, but we have no intention of losing touch with you guys after we move). The 5th day could be a drive home day or break it into two days by either going up 97 through Yakima (that stretch of 97 was recently listed as one of the top ten interesting drives in the US by Outside Magazine)... or... cross the Warm Springs reservation to Kahneeta (sp?) then on to Hood River for a night, home next day. Waddah think?
Waldo

Walt, good plan!
So, how many people will you be able to put up overnight? There won't be any "nasty boys" about, will there?

Rich...
let's hope the only "nasty boy" in attendance will be the one I manage to find between now and then. I'm looking hard. So far have come across five or six, just not THE ONE yet. It's gotta be a BN1/2 bodied car.

Well Walt I hope you find "The One" before the trip. I would hate for you to have to take the Miata. It might have less room than the cobras, though it has a top and a heater. WAIT! kinda like that other little car you had. Heck, you could paint some stripes on the miata and record Hamilton burnin off his back tires and between your imagination, our imagination and a REALLY loud sound system with that tape, it's almost like the good ol days! But until all that happens lets not lose track of getting a route down. Now I've traveled a bunch, but I have NO idea about driving roads south of here. So if everyone wants to comment on what Walt's got, or tell us your ideas of what you think would work. Let 'em FLY!
-Craig
Personally a trip south sounds great. Let's just try to keep the temp under a hundred. It was hot enough this year.
