Dyno Final
Thanks to Dyno Day... just picked up the ole Bitccch after 12 daze at RPM Racz Performance (Carb Connection). They spent a good (way good) deal of time trying to sort out my pesky vacuum secondaries. No can do... they simply would not open all of the way. That money pi$$ed away, we then went to a new (slightly used) higher perf carb they had with mechanical secondaries.
Add new points, rotor, condensor, cap, (eat your hearts out fancy schmancy electronic ignition folks) fan belt (no more squeak!!), re-curved distributor (way re-curved) and the new numbers at the rear wheel are:
439 HP and 490 ft lbs torque to the rear wheels!
OK.. I'm lying. How about 282 and 359. Hey what do you want for a 1974 truck motor? It looks like a real car motor!
Anyway, I have a new car. Throttle response is beyond anything ever. Punch it in 1st gear and its sideways. Second gear slam its sideways. 3rd gear start from stop sign beats my King Ranch X2. Exhaust is way less rich... especially at idle (Pat will be happy).
Wanna hear a real story... Larry, care to chime in? (I heard about your awesome and kick a$$ change). You gotta be a smil'in!!
Alex Racz who runs the place knows his stuff. My car was flawless upon receipt. He is a very nice and genuine fellow. I would not hesitate to recommend these folks to anyone. If you are on the fence about them, jump on over. Its the real deal.
Welp... got some rubber to burn, so must get with it. Any Q's or want my dyno sheets? Drop me a line.
Mean time, Dyno Day 2005 is being planned, Bar BQ, drinks, and exhaust fumes. Ummmm.
Best Personal Regards,
Zderf
