Rippin' into it
Finally have decided that I am tired of doing the "big foot shuffle" with the tiny space in my foot box. Am cutting away the right side of the drivers foot box so I can move the loud pedal over about 6 inches and then get some space between the clutch and brake. Good friend of mine is good with sheet metal and he has a car lift, so he will be the general contractor on this project. I'm thinking it will make the driving a whole lot more fun and the stopping a little less stressful.

Its been so long since we saw you in the car we thought you had sold it and bought a 2 wheeler. Then there was always the thought that you and BNB had joined forces and woop up on the rest of us.
The stroker "Y"is still running so I guess I will try and install an E brake in it this winter.

Hey Fred,
Been a busy year, been working my a$$ off.
Wonder what ever happened to the "Bigot in Black". Sort of miss his tirdes.
Well, I put power brakes on the BT Cobra this year. Sort of running out of things to do now, so decided it would be nice to have some more foot room. Glad the old "Y" block is behaving.

Foot or Box?
Bish,
It might be cheeper and easier to chop your feet instead of the box!
Happy New Year!
Always a smart a$$ in the crowd!
Be Safe,
Mike

You can do it. I had to do this in my last cobra when I switched from the automagic to the toploader 4spd. Just make sure you get everything solidly mounted, you may need to press hard on the loud pedal and even harder on that thing that slows you down!

Bish, this may sound kinda stupid...
I take my right shoe off.
My 11 1/2 EEEs maul the brake/throttle pedals in my BDR.
Sweetness, my college girl, is 11 women's size, also takes her shoe off.
It's kinda like a ritual, here.
Different point of view.
You drive my little blue car, you take your right shoe off.
My opinion only.

Been taking the shoe off for 4 years! There is so much room between the footwell and the transmission it seemed like the thing to do. Should be fairly simple to cut it out, make a sheet metal insert which will be pop riveted in place and then glassed over. Will use a cable drive gas pedal and spread the brake and clutch. Using the cable drive will remove the throttle linkage lash up and clean things up. Anyway, looking forward to not having to wear special shoes or go barefoot.
Happy New Year you guys,
Bish

Bish, I don't see how you stood that for this long.
If you want any help or...would like to have someone sit around, drink beer, and watch you work, let me know. Since we moved I'm about 25 miles closer to you.

Footsbox
Hey Bish,
Make sure you insulate the metal part of the new footsbox or you'll realy get a hotfoot. Aren't you running out of stuff to replace on that chebby yet?
