Thumbs up Northwest Snakes Summer Opener & Cruise 2005 July 23rd(Photos Added)

Northwest Snakes Summer Opener & Cruise 2005

The rescheduled date that most people replied back on was chosen to be Saturday July 23rd. The weather should be great for this time of year.

Looking for some family fun? Look no further! Please join us for a cruise along some of Oregon & Washington's most beautiful scenic roads on Saturday July 23rd. We are inviting you to take the cruise from Portland heading East on Hwy 14 to Hood River and driving around the Hood River County Fruit Loop with us. The Fruit Loop is on the Oregon side of the beautiful Columbia Gorge. It is approximately 35 miles around the loop. You will be driving by many Local Wineries, local farms and fruit stands. Be sure to pack picnic lunch for our stop at the Tucker County Park.

Liz and I have driven through the route twice now. It was really cool driving the beautiful country roads. Here is a brief discription of the route we did. We went 196 miles round trip. Here is the route we did: We started off at the Taco Bell by I-205 at Exit 20. Leaving, we took the I-205 bridge over to Hwy 14 and went east towards White Salmon Washington. Across the Columbia Gorge to Hood River and onto the scenic Hood River Fruit Loop route. We then drove back home on I-84 west and jumped onto the old Columbia Scenic Hwy just before Multnomah Falls and finish up at the Troutdale bridge area.

We will supply Map's, Note Pads and Pens and a goody bag for everyone. No Fees, just fun! Please reply to us and let us know if your coming along with us.

Please see the Official web page for this run HERE

Allen,
Looks like you all had a fun trip and wow look at the views. Maybe, Just maybe next year we can come along for the cruise.

A real good cruise for you would be on 101 along the coastline. But I am sure that has been done several times before.

Thanks Steve. BTW - Hwy 101 is in the plans for the wife and I some day. We have traveled that route once before, but we were in our Chevy Tracker, not one the most exciting vehicles to drive.

Yea we did it in the F250 but it was a nice drive. Interesting thing. I have a Platinum edition F250 4x4 and it is suposidly a limited edition. They only made so many of them. It was interesting at the poeple comments while we wre up north.

They had not seen a truck painted this color before kind of comments. I was looking at the scenery.

101 in a cobra would be the drive of a lifetime, at least for me.
