Default Pacific RaceWay

Historics at Pacific Raceways

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------Maybe the Server will stay up this time

It's that time again...sign-ups for the SOVREN Historics vintage sports car races!

If you want to park in the car corral with the Cobra Club, send me money and I'll get tickets for everyone. I'm pretty sure all the information you need is below on the fact sheet...if not, just ask. As always, I need to send the money to SOVREN no later than June 10th.

Here's the Car Corral prices:
CAR CORRAL PASSES (CAR AND DRIVER ONLY)
FRIDAY ONLY: $25.00
SATURDAY ONLY: $25.00
SUNDAY ONLY: $25.00
THREE DAY PASS: $40.00

My preference is to attend Sat. July 1st. Did I mention you get to make a couple of parade laps around Pacific Raceways?

Here's the general fact sheet I received from SOVREN:

Fact Sheet
18th ANNUAL PACIFIC NORTHWEST HISTORICS
VINTAGE AUTO RACES

DATE: May30th-July 2, 2006

LOCATION: Pacific Raceways (formerly Seattle International Raceway)
Highway 18, Kent, Wash.

TIME: 8:30 a.m.: gates open
9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Friday qualifying and racing
9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Saturday/Sunday practice and racing

TICKET PRICES: Adults: $25 one-day pass Friday, Saturday or Sunday, $40 multiple day pass
Children age 7 - 16: $5 per day
Children 6 years and under are free.
Friday – qualifying and racing, all groups; Saturday & Sunday - practice and racing

Tickets available at the gate.
Advance discount tickets available through Ticketmaster through June 30.

EVENT CELEBRITY: TBD

PACE CAR DRIVER: Dominic Dobson has competed in seven consecutive Indianapolis 500 mile races, 66 CART/PPG Indy Car World Series races over a 10-year span, as well as five 24 Hours of Daytona events and the 1989 24 Hours of LeMans.

EVENT DESCRIPTION: The Pacific Northwest Historics features many of the world’s rarest and most beautiful pre-1970 race cars. This year, more than 250 vintage race cars are expected to enter. Favorites include Ferraris, Lotuses, Cobras, Corvettes, Porsches, Austin Healeys and some less recognizable names like Elva, Ginetta, and McLaren. Most are in mint condition through extensive restoration and many attain speeds in excess of 150 miles per hour. Some of the cars are valued at over $1 million and many have impressive racing histories. Competitors come from all over the West Coast and Canada. The wheel to wheel competition on the challenging 2 ¼-mile road course includes nine turns, 200-300 foot elevation drop and a near ¾-mile straightaway.

The paddock area is open to all spectators.

FEATURED DISPLAY: Allard

CAR CORRAL: An additional 250 vintage and collector cars from local car clubs will be on display in the car corral.

PRESENTERS: Society of Vintage Racing Enthusiasts (SOVREN)
SOVREN Guild of Children’s Hospital

CONFIRMED SPONSORS: Title Sponsor, Phil Smart Mercedes-Benz; Presenting Sponsor, Edelbrock Corporation; Associate Sponsor, Jackson Dean Construction, others TBD.

BENEFICIARY: All proceeds benefit uncompensated care at Children’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center in Seattle. Over the last 17 years, close to $4 million dollars has been raised at the races. Our goal for 2005 is $450,000.

MORE INFORMATION: www.northwesthistorics.com or call 206-389-5200 (Race hotline)

Now the good stuff. Steve T and I attended the meeting with SOVREN in place of Rich this year. These are the changes for this year.

Car Corral will be limited to 20 cars per Club.
Deadline for entering June 10th, after the 10 you will still beable to enter but you will have to park in the south lot of the Corral and NO PARADE LAP WILL BE ALLOWED.

Speed They want to keep the slower cars of each club at the rear so they don't slow the ones that want to here the rumble. This does not give us an open ticket to go WOT but it does give up the chance to have some fun.

Cars will be grouped in same type ie Cobras,Vettes and Mustangs.

They want to know how many cars by the 10th so that means I need to have the money to them by the 10th so lets use the 5th for a cut off. No need to buy your passengers ticket at this time as you can get them at the car gate.

I will post at a later date as to where we will meet up and at what time.

Question NWCC Entry Deadline?

Fred,

What your deadline? When are you planning to mail in our club's entries? This year I might even be able to make it since it's not screwing up the 4th of July, the 4th is already screwed up by being on a Tuesday!

Kevin

They want the money by the 10th of June so I am using the 5th of June for the cut off. Get off your back side and come out and play, you need new rear tires anyway.

Money has been sent to the SOVREN. Once I get the tickets I will mail out the ones for the 3 day pass, all others will be handed out at the track unless you want them sent to you.
