Default Another New Guy

Hello!

Well I have finally pulled the trigger and will have BDR354 delivered end of next week. I am looking forward to getting together with other Cobra owners in the Seattle-Tacoma area. Do you guys/gals have a hangout place?
I belong to SVT Lightning club and we meet sometimes at the Rock up at Lake Tapps. Hope to meet all of you soon.

Mark

Thumbs up

Welcome Mark,

I am also new to the club (Aug 05) and Cobra ownership; FFR4710. As far as clubs go, this one appears to be a very informal orginization of Cobra owners/builders. There are no meetings, dues or officers; just a bunch of friendly folks that like to get together every now and then with their Cobras.

We meet on this site and someone comes up with a cruise idea and it takes off from there. Fred Hamalton and Jake Greger are always good for organizing cruises and events.

Again welcome and hope to see you soon.

Steve

Welcome Mark, It is always nice to have another local Cobra guy. Steve is correct in that the club is very informal and you are a member as soon as you make your first post. As far as set times for cruises or meets, there are none. All you need to do is post a time and a place for a cruise and people will show up...most of the time.
If time allows, you should join us for the trip to Banff. You have not vacationed until you cram everthing you need for a week in the trunk of a Cobra . Also put the run to the Mountain on your calander. Let us know when you car gets here!

Jake

Yep! I had so much fun last weekend. Then I had to go on travel and missed out on all the great weather here. It was kind of funny. My first trip in the car about a mile from my house I pulled onto highway 410 and another cobra (red with white stripes) pulled up next to me. Then the next day, I drove the Cobra to work and when I was merging onto 167 a dark blue Cobra waved me in front of him. I have never had so much fun in my life!

Thumbs up Welcome to the Snake Pit

I kinda' feel like Kevin Costner every time I take take my Cobra out of it's Snake Pit for a drive. Cobras are the greatest attraction of waves, thumbs-up, hollers, and picture long stares on the road. I'm positive its been that way for the last 40-years, and will be for the next 100+ years (or until all the fossil fuels on the planet are used up)! DON'T forget to wave back.

Oh... wait until you put gas in your Snake, allocate 45-minutes to open the hood and talk to all the interested parties about owning a Cobra. Eventually you will find lots of time savings by gassing up the rod late in the night or early in the moring when the Cobra lovin' people aren't out and about. You'll never believe how many people will tell you they are gonna' own a Cobra some day. I tell them that if you want somethin' bad enough that many times dreams do come true! Keep a great attitude towards the wanna-be's, and don't forget that you and I were both one of them once upon a time. Best of luck. Have a hoot.

Kev & Di

Mark,

Thanks for showing me the car the other day...it is looking like there might be another Backdraft in the area in a month or so. I am down to picking the finer points.
Tremec T-5 vs. TKO (don't know the price differential yet)...
351W (385hp) vs. 408 (450hp and about $1000 more)...
3.10 vs 3.46...
Also needed to find out if there were alternate carberator options.
Looking like Prism Red with be the color...I don't know how I'll handle waiting a month...uff.

Cory

Cory,

Those are easy choices! Get the 346 gears (wish I had them), the TKO with the tall first gear and the 408! Just let me know if you want to head out on a nice day! I am game any time.

Mark
