Default Winter cobra upgrades

Hi,
What are you planning to do to the beast this winter?
I have her up on jacks replacing my racing 5 point harness with updated SFI belts[need to do this every 2 years] as we will be trying out the little engine at the track next year.
Also cleaned the interior while the seats were out, lots of travelling junk, coins, popsicle stick, etc fell under there!
Put in some gas stabilizer and run it to the carb.
Need to pull the "other" axle and inspect it for the next years Historics.
Remember to take my spare parts the next time I venture far away from home.
Perry.

Default Good stuff

Hi MD,
Choose your swaybars carefully, the cobra is very light and doesn't need much if any sway bar. I had one on the front and took it off as it was too much. My cobra is more predictable with just stiffer front Carrera springs.
Perry.

Just a few items:

clean body
re-polish stripes
detail engine bay
replace several of the studs for the soft top
re-paint the letters on the tires

also thinking about dual quads for next year

Only 2 Plans:
1. Drive it.
2. Drive it some more.

Default Winter project

Perry,
I just took delivery of a couple of Stainless Specialties mufflers for the side pipes. I will have the old ones cut-off and the new ones welded and powder coated. From what I understand...The new ones will be much louder. The up side is I should gain 50-70 H.P. Just what I need. I also may have the car dyno tuned to see if I can sqeak some more power out of her.

Jake

I think I'll wax and buff the frame then drive it around the block and do the wax/buff thing again
Seriously though
1) Webers
2) Adjustable tubular A-arms
3) rebuild exhaust system

Time is the factor right now

Lube all the suspension points, install a trunk hold open rod, ceramic coat the side exhaust, replace the engine start button, replace the fuel filters and install a fuel pressure gauge, wax and detail the engine bay, install rear coil over shocks and install rear fender spats.

Default Winter Upgrades

We're going to buy a 20' enclosed trailer and tow ours south a couple times so we can have a 4 seasons Cobra in a 1+1/4+1/4 season state. But, don't think the weather is a reason not to have a Cobra in the Pacific NW - it is exactly why we have one - it makes you get out and play on the good days and there were many, many of them this summer & early fall.

Right now we're dealing with the aftermath of the flood...nothing serious, though!

How about G.R.s 24 footer on the NW club thread? Looks like a great deal.

Jake

Maybe with that extra 50 to 70 HP you might be able to stay up with me in my Stroker Y Block. Let me know when I can try the old Black pipes.

Perry
What you really need to replace are those rear end gears so you can go 70MPH for over 20 minutes with out over heating.

Rebuild/Replace clutch slave cylinder.
Repair and Repaint car.
Replace remote oil adapter housing.
Fix that #%*&%@#"!)(& emergency brake.

I'm gonna finally track down that low-end bog and get a new aluminum radiator with a decent electric fan and... Oh wait, I forgot, I'm not gonna do anything.

I was down at Park Place the other day and they're sending the old girl to Barrett-Jackson in January. My ex might be a TV star. I hope Alain is kind to her.
