Got the tickets today. Andy and Tim's tickets are in the mail. If any other 3 day ticket holders need theirs let me know so I can get them in the mail. We still have 3 extra slots in the corral if anyone knows of other cobras out there.

This is what I just received from Bill on the Historics.
Hi All,
I was at the track over the weekend to see what kind of changes had been made to the car corral area. There is both good news and bad, although there are more detrimental changes than beneficial ones as far as our event is concerned. There is a lot of work being done at the track and every year is going to be a new adventure for the foreseeable future. As far as the changes to the car corral area are concerned, here goes.
1. The driveways through the corral area were paved last week and a lot of gravel has been spread over the areas that used to be bare dirt. This should keep dust down a bit but the problem is that the pavement isn't at grade level. In places, there are sizeable steps. It's going to be difficult to get cars with low ground clearance over them. I don't think that there will be problems with sedan-type vehicles but anything with spoilers, low exhaust systems, etc. is apt to scrape. If anyone will be at the track in the next week or so, I'd appreciate your feedback.
2. Brett Chevrolet has a display area in the corral area so we will be losing the use of much of the area near the administration buildings and the paving operation has made much of the area behind the grandstand unusable for parking. One of the event sponsors will have a 20 x 40 tent in in the area by the track. What this means is that the rest of the corral will be rather crowded, especially on Saturday. As usual, that day is over subscribed. I'd really appreciate it if anyone that will be at the track both days consider foregoing the parade laps on Saturday so we can have manageable parade lap group sizes.
3. The rearrangement of fences and driveways means that cars will have to be parked two deep in almost all of the area by the track.
4. On a more positive note, the little house near the entry gate is gone and I think that we have arranged to have the motor homes and equipment trailers removed or at other locations for the event.
I expect other changes in the next week.

Weather is looking like a toss up. I have Friday off from work and may spend that day cleaning the car. Saturday for sure. Can anyone tell me when the Saturday events are complete or what the Saturday schedule is?

It looks as if the weather is going to be on our side. Lets plan on meeting on the straight section coming into PRW between 8 and 8:45 with a drive in time of 9:00. If you are having trouble or something comes up give me a call so I can meet up with you for your tickets. 253-988-9901.

Brian and I went down today and watched a couple of sessions. It was nice and dry when we got there but after about an hour it started pouring and did'nt look like it was going to let up so we left about 2:00. The weather is suppose to be good for Sat.

Went out today (Friday)and saw two races. The second race had about 30 to 40 cars. A vett won and a cobra took second. I found out later the vett was driven by a professional race driver. The cobra looked great. Then the rain started to pour.

Fred: Thanks for doing this. It was one of the best events I have ever seen.
Sorry about the 64 Jag, didn't want to drive the Cobra 40 miles in the rain. So My Cousin in Auburn drove to the track.
Nice to meet you Andy. Sorry I missed a lot of the North west guys.
Way to busy watching the cars and taking pictures.

The race was great. The best part was when me and Jim got Hell for the club going so fast. The guy just does not understand Cobras or Cobra owners. I thought the leader of the pack was going to easy and they should have been thankfull.

As it turned out you were not the only one talked to. I was told that a letter will be sent, when I get that letter I will post it here.

It made me remember the days we tore up the pavement around the high school and was given a choice of 50 laps around the track or three wacks with the Board of Education, It was so hard to smile like it did not hurt and still hold back the tears. I'm sure that board had a nitro system on it. The teacher was a huge guy but also a good man and friend with all the students. He chuckled when he said this is going to hurt me more than it does you. Who made up that stupid statement?
Remember those days.
