Default Portland Historics 2007 / CC members?

Any of you on CC going to the Portland Historics, by chance?

A small group of us from NorCal are headed up to check it out and the surroundng area; and to watch a few friends run the races. It would be fun to know who/what Cobras might be there, if any. Maybe we'll see some of you there...or in Race cars if any of you on CC are racing vintage cars.

Cascade Cobras always has a contingent of Roadsters sign up and park in the car corral in the center of the track. Come by and visit.

I may be interested in checking out the Portland Historics races. Can anyone tell me more about it, (never been before). What all is available for the public? Any cobra owners taking their cars? Confirmation on the date? July 7,8 2007 is this correct?
THanks

Duane:
Cascade Cobras will have a corral set up on all 3 days of the historics. We'll be in the infield as we've been for the last couple of years. By all means, stop by and say hi.

If you want to park you Cobras in the infield with the club, you will need to get in the gate first, then come around to the parking area behind the front straight bleachers (main parking lot). Then you need to get in line at the crossing gate to get to the infield. Between races they will open the gate for people to cross for about 5 minutes or so.
Come on over, we have a great group and have a good time visiting at the races. Besides, our parking is in the shade and it is supposed to HOT this weekend.

See you guys there- I'll be the one whining about not having my car done yet!
DonC has the beautiful Dark red/silver ERA and a permanent smile on his face.

Will Do Don. We'll be in Bend for a day or so, and heading up to Portland on Friday/Saturday, and hope to be at the Historics Saturday morning or so. I'll be looking for the nice Red ERA #684 with the street dash and Accusump system in it to find you!

Default Hey, nice seeing you guys in action!

Don, Steve & All,

It sure was great seeing you guys and all the cars in your Cascade Cobra Club together at PIR. Thanks a bunch for your time and details about Oregon. What a nice location there within the trees for all the car clubs at that center area location at PIR. And great weather and all on Saturday!

Along with all the great racing going on, we found many of the groups of car and a few motorcycle people there to be very passionate about their cars and clubs. Lots of great English cars and quite a turnout of enthusiasts for sure. In comparison to my recent years at Laguna Seca / Monterey Historics and Wine Country Classic at Infineon/Sears, it appeared to me you guys actually had a larger showing and variety of cars in each club, and more people hanging around their cars just enjoying the scene. It was great to see and experience and to listen to all the people just enjoying their cars.

Believe it or not, the club there who impressed us a lot is definitely the PDX Mini owners club there in Oregon. It is clear, those folks are serious about those Minis, planning drives, and enjoying every possible "Works" option detail known to man for Minis. My wife wants a tricked out Mini now as a result. We really got a kick out of those people and seeing everyone just haning out with the cars. If you guys ever do any long coastal drives, keep us in mind, it would be fun to come up there and check it out to see what you guys do and where you go.

Thanks again. DC

Hi,
I am looking for a member of your club , he owns a Steve Arntz car. My husband and I recently bought a car in Canada , that they said was a Steve Arntz. We contacted Bob Bennett , and he said he would send us all the info on the car but we have gotten nothing. I am just really interested in finding out some little details that he may know , I saw a post about the car and now aI am trying to track down a guy named Eric and his wife is Peggy. I would really appreicate any help you could provide.

thanks plinko

Plinko:
Send me either a PM or an email to:
CWILL1958@COMCAST.NET
Include your contact information and I'll get it to Eric for you. Please title the message "contact information for Eric" so I don't "junk" you.
