Default Amended Bellingham Run

OK, We can make this a weekend run, upto and around Mt Baker on Saturday Sept. 6, over night in Bellingham, home on Sunday Chuckanut Dr, maybe lunch at the Conway Tavern and home.

From the Seattle area it will be a 3 hour drive up to the start of the Mt Baker Hwy. 5 hours to do Artist's point and get to Bellingham. It makes for a full day but dblbarrel (Tim)in Bellingham assures me that it is an awesome trip.

There is Super 8 in Ferndale, the rooms are under $100. I have set aside a block of 6 for Saturday night September 6. The block is under NW Cobra. I did set aside one Non smoking room.

Hope some of you can make it.

Mark and Rita

My brother is not sure if he is setting up my mom's birthday party the weekend of the 6th/7th or the 13th/14th.

I'm taking mom home this coming weekend so I will try to get him to nail it down.

Mark,

Gloria and I cannot make Saturday, but we do want to link up with you all first thing Sunday morning for breakfast and then do the run back south on Chuck-a-Nut.

Let us know where we should plan on linking up with you all.

Our Best To All,

Dale & Gloria McBain

Rita and Mark,
Do you have the phone number for the motel? Where you plan on meeting Saturday morning and at what time do you plan on hitting the road?

The road to Artist point is great, brand new a year ago.
A spectacular trip. Chuckanut will not disappoint either.
But you guys are used to spectacular scenery on twisty roads.
Sorry you cant make it Dale.

Born and raised in the NW and spent many a night in the Conway Tav. You guys brought back some memories. That place is a hoot.

Is that dance hall still there in Silvana?

How's the weather up there this summer?

Default Conway Tavern

Food is great. It is a pretty sedate place mostly frequented by old H-D riders.

Default Bellingham details

I have booked the Super 8 in Ferndale
Interstate 5 Exit 262
5788 Barrett Avenue
Ferndale, WA, 98248

Phone: 360-384-8881
Fax: 360-380-1930

Dale, we will probably have breakfast at a restaurant near the Super 8. There is a Denny's there and I believe dblbarrel said there was another place in that same area. I will confirm that. I expect we will head out to eat around 8:30. That is open to change.

Default Lets go to Mt Baker

Well, the weather is good, and here is the final plan.

Those of us south of Bellevue will meet at Denney's just off of Exit 7 of 405 about 8 am. Breakfast and on the road by 9. Up 405 to I-5 to Hwy 9 and hopefully reach Demming by 11am. Break, gas and pick up some snacks and off to Artist's Point. It will probably be at least 4 hours round trip for the mountian run. Then on to Ferndale and Motel check in. We do not have a dinner place yet, that is open to suggestions.

Sunday: It will actually be a short milage day. Maybe Dale and Gloria can meet us at the Motel around 8, and we can figure out breakfast. We will drive south on Chuckanut and wind our way down to Conway. Probably just a couple of hours. Lunch at Conway and then home. There are a couple of ways down to Marysville but after that it is freeway.

I hope that some more of you can make it, even if it is just for lunch at Conway.

Hope to see you.

Well right now it appears that Saturday is out, but I'm hoping to make it on Sunday.

Should know what my weekend work schedule is by mid day on Friday, so I will post a note then.

Hope you all have fun.
