Spring time Dyno meet at Carb
Well I hit the damn enter button to soon.
Anyway, some people had expressed an interest in meeting at the Carb Connection in the spring for some dyno runs. Well it just so happens that if we can get 5+ owners/cars interested, we can have a meeting there. Here is the link to their calendar. http://www.carbconn.com/dyno_calendar.html Since Steve started this, I will let him pick it up from here. |
How did you come up with this outfit? Is there reputation that great? Have you done bussiness with them before? The drive for me will be an adventure.

At least in my case, the emissions were terrible and he recommended that I go to this place before my next test. |
It is also recommended by performance orientated owners in this area. Last summer I accompanied two club members who had their cars on the dyno. I went along for the ride (any excuse to get the Cobra out) and the beer. I was very impressed with the shop and the knowledgeable employees. While I was there I noticed a number of very high performance cars in and around the shop which tells me others value their expertise.
Besides that, It's a nice little run from the Tacoma area:D |
CC is a good shop, but be sure to check with John at the Horse Power Ranch (http://www.hpranch.com/) for dyno day rates. John is very knowledgeable and has a ± 1,000 hp Mustang for a toy.

Carmen,
Thanks for the info. As we get closer to spring, I'll get a cost comparison. It might be worth a trip up there to check it out. |
I'm new to the northwest...just moved to Bainbridge Island from California - Bay Area. Where is Carb Connection located??

I would be interested in a group visit to a dyno day. I met the owner of Carb Connection last summer at the legends car show in Kirkland. I have also heard they are very reasonable on their dyno rates. Count me in.

I would be interested in bringing my GT40.
|
With Swift DB4 that gives us five vehicles, however the more the merrier.
|
I am another fan of Carb Connection. Have had many cars dyno'd there. Alex, the owner knows his stuff and is a great guy. I will continue to go there even though its a long trek.

Zoom,
Welcome to the NW, several club members live south of you. We would love to get together sometimes. I live in Olalla, Jim and several others live in Gig Harbor. I just got a e mail from a friend Bill who lives in Port Orchard and got his new Shelby from Shelby, it took two half years. I drive my Cobra all year when the suns out and always try to go out on New Years day. Give me a call some time or e mail me. Also Steve I would go on the Dnyo run also. Andy,

Let me know which days will work. Us retired folks can go most any time.;) |

I would definitely be up for this as well. After 6k miles, I really do need to get my carb/engine tuned, so this would be a good start.
|
Well Steve, I thought I would bring this thread back to life and see if you still wanted to do this. We are only 5 weeks away from the Run to the Sun trip.
Let me know. As you are well aware, with my work schedule I'm probably 50/50 at best, but the sooner I know the date, the better my chances will be. Thanks |
I contacted Carb Connection this morning inquiring about prices.
For a dyno run with five or more cars the cost will be $75.00. The run report includes A/F ratios, H.P., torque and timing settings throughout the rpm range. A dyno tune includes (if required) adjusting A/F ratios by jet or meetering rod changes, float adjustments, ignition timing (recurving if needed) plus the dyno pulls and printed report. Depending upon the adjustments, they can schedule 5 dyno tunes a day. We will have to reserve a Saturday for the tunes and runs. They are working up a price on the tune and will give us a number of Saturdays in July & August to choose from. When I get the price and dates I'll post the info. |
Thats a good price, lets get a date set up,
I"m in Andy**):LOL::confused:**) |
