It's been over a week since I drove the Cobra 125+. So unless something comes up, I will be there. Hey Brent, got time to help me install an oil cooler?

Just checked the WASAAC web page and it looks as if we have 7 Cobras signed up for the open track, any other takers out there?

Hello???
Anybody what to share some details? The weather was perfect, it had to be great. Please, somebody give up some goods. Neal? Donovan? Anybody? Did someone take (and use) a camera? Share with us deprived folk that had to work. Please.

SIR
Yes it was sunny at SIR. Seven or eight Cobras, but the fastest guy out there, in a Cobra, was Fred Hamilton. You have to like this guy, not afraid to go fast and always there to diagnos your Cobra woes.

Good time had by all.
Fred had a pretty heavy foot. His major handicap was that heavy big block motor! Donovan was ready to move out of the beginner group after the first run. He was really tearing up the track. I had a high rpm miss that caused me to short shift all day. Kept me down to 135~140mph on the front straight into turn 1. Great to see all of you out there. Keep an eye out for the next event...

Lets see if I can sum it up.
One had a high speed miss.
One had an overheat problem.
One lost his alternator.
Two threw rod bearings
The rest of us had a good day of driving, the track was hot and slick in places. I for one had a hard time keeping the BFG planted on turn 3a and B. It opened a can of woop a** on me every time. Just got to get me a set of stickies. Mark took some movies but no still photos were taken that I know of.
Neal I know what you mean about the big blocks, why add weight when you can STROKE.

Dont know why it logged me in under some wierd name. I had a blast at SIR. By my last run I was able to get 130+ on the front street. Biggest problem was a fear of getting on the gas until I was a little more parallel with wall coming out of that last turn. As the track turns black from the drag strip it looks really slick. Think I am gonna have to upgrade to some rear disks. My stock Mustang rear drums turned to mush after about 10 minutes of hard braking. That was my first track event and first time at driving at those kind of speeds. Coming down that hill into turn 3 really got tough as my brakes went.
I am going back soon!

Fred and Steve,
Thanks for the assistance in getting my car home. The track day was awesome. My first time, but I'm hooked, so more ahead.
I'll let you know when I find out what the problem is.
The pictures look good. I had a ball.
