Sunday night in Leavenworth
Just wanted to throw out to everone who is going on the trip that Kim and myself will be extending the trip with a night in Leavenworth (Sunday night). My parents have offered to watch the kids an extra night and we are taking them up on it! So if anyone else is interested in joining us on an extra night the Days in that we stayed in the last time we were there still has rooms for about $105 a night. We can't wait to hit the road.

Weather
The long range forecast for Friday July 31st for the area from Burlington, WA to Marblemount on Hwy 20 is mostly sunny with temps in the mid 80's. No rain in the forecast. It going to be hotter than a ship's boiler room on Saturday and Sunday in the Sun Mtn. area.

I did not see any interest in the Sunday night in Leavenworth, so Kim and I are scratching that idea and staying with friends in Wenatchee instead.

Is anyone heading north on 405 Friday morning through Kirkland at about 9:30 or 10? The shirt supplier screwed up and did not ship the shirts on time. They are going to be delivered to my office by UPS around 9 or 9:30 Friday. We live in Snohomish, so I was hoping someone could stop and pick them up, if it fits anybody elses schedule.

My wife puts a bag of ice down by her feet to help her keep cool.

Hey Dale, sounds like the weather has been a bit "Havasuish" in your neck of the woods.
Yesterday it was 114 here, I took the Cobra to lunch with our club guys....there was one other guy showed up in his Cobra. It was OK for a short run but required a towel on the seat. Hot hot Hot!
Keep on having fun, Bill

Gloria always brings an umbrella for use at stop lights for shade. We are also bring a spray bottle filled with water for a little evaporative cooling. By the way Accuweather said yesterday that Friday will be in the mid 80's.

Dale, I need to echo what Jake said.
Thanks for organizing this. Karen and I had a great time. At least after we got the room issue straightened out.
It was great to see old friends again, and to meet some new ones.
And the drive back yesterday was fantastic. From the time we left Winthrop, all the way to Marblemount, we only ran into 6 or 7 cars going our way. All but one of those pulled over to let us pass. Probably had something to do with how fast I came up behind them.
Jake. You would have loved it. It was like an 78 mile road race.

Dale,
Ditto! Eileen and I had a great time. One suggestion; next time make it 20 degrees cooler.
John & Jake,
600 plus miles on the odometer and you don't want to know my mileage.

I went through approximately 68 gallons of gas on the trip. That's not bad. It's a little over 10 MPG average.

Steve, I don't want to even know. I managed 14 MPG...I am guessing that it was good because I kept my foot out of the throttle all weekend.

Dale-Thanks for putting together such a great trip. It was our first of many to come. Alta Lake was nice and we had a great drive back over N Cascades Hwy. I think we got 8 MPG following Jake thru Twisp and 12 heading back over the mountain it was a good 10MPG average. I like the location and the loop drive on Saturday was good too, our suggestion is Sun Mountain again.
