Uptown Car Show
Please join us at the Uptown Car Show May 30th to Benefit the Susan G Komen for the Cure.
The show will be held from 10 am to 4 pm. We'll start staging cars at 8 am.
You can learn more about the show at www.UptownCarShow.com.
100% of the registration will go directly to the Susan G Komen Foundation for a Cure (the 3 day walk) and is tax deductible.
We expect 120+ cars, and hope to fill up quickly. Please register early if you plan on attending. If your Club would like to be together, please either phone me (253) 534-9600 or indicate on the registration form.
There will be raffles for the people that register their cars (raffle tickets are included with your registration), music and entertainment, lots of people to see your cars, great cars, breakfast and lunch, and more.
There will be a grand prize for people’s choice, plus lots of raffles.
The all new Uptown Gig Harbor features many boutique shops and restaurants, a state of the art Galaxy Theater (with an adults only VIP theater), and more. It is a delightful drive to Gig Harbor. There are links for hotels (with discounts) on the website. Some of the shops even cater to teenagers, and a theater, so it’s a good show to bring the family.
Please let me know if you have questions or comments, you can reach me at (253) 534-9600.
Thank you for supporting this great cause and contributing to your karma.

I saw one online somewhere for the same day for the same cause on Fox Island. Is that the same one that moved or are there two on that day?

The long range weather forecast shows a nice day for the Uptown Car Show.
Who is planning on going and do we want to register as a group or attend individually? We all realize Jim (Too) will take the OT but who else is in?

I won't be up for OT next Sat. (60 hrs. of OT in a week is my limit) so I will be there (I know, you've all heard that before). If we can get a head count, I can go early and stake out a snake pit for all of us.

I would say the odds of getting two weekends off in a row are pretty slim. I probably won't know for sure until Friday.

Okay, here's the deal. I contacted the promoter and asked - "I'm trying to coordinate several of the local Cobra owners to attend the show. What would be the best way to make sure we can all park in together? Some won't know until Friday night if they can attend so they don't want to pre-register. Do we need to show up all at once or can the first person there reserve an area? "
Her reply -
Hi Jim,
Would LOVE to have the Cobras there.
Just let me know how many are coming. We’ll hold a wonderful area for you guys.
Is there a group or club name?
Dorothy
I told her that I hope to get 6-12 Cobras and her reply was - Oh my, there is no car more gorgeous! Thanks for the treat!
Soooo, all I need is a somewhat accurate headcount so she knows how big of an area to save for us. I'll update this as commitments come in. So far I have a definate:
1. Me
2. Andy
3. Jim (race-it)
4. Jack & Daren (Skonebone & son)
5. Bill & Karen (Zoom This & his better half)
6. Steve B.

As of when I left work today I did not have to work Saturday. That may change tomorrow, but it does not look like it, so I will be there.
Which reminds me. Where is "there"?
Never mind, I found the directions.

Great John. You're added to the list (with a question mark because of your/our reputation ). Repeat after me - I will be there, I will be there, I am not an OT whore.
