Fiberglass repair shop near Tacoma, Wa
I have the responsibility of maintaining and exercising a Cobra kit car for a friend (it's a long story). The car recently had a run in with a guard rail (another long story). The right front corner got hit pretty hard. The major damage is limited to the front 3 feet of the body. No mechanical damage. We have an initial estimate from the insurance company and I am now trying to find a good body and paint shop in the Tacoma area to do the repairs. We do not know what kit the car is. My friend is the third owner. Any recommendations for a good body shop experienced with fiberglass would be greatly appreciated.

Ouch!
The best work I've seen around here is from Stroud's on South Tacoma Way and I think they do fiberglass. Steve..........Who did you hood? Good luck, Ray |
I've also heard good things about Stroud's.
My son-in-law repaired my hood as a favor but he does not want to get back into the repair business. |
I retired but stroud's is an excellent choice.

Thanks for the advice
I took yesterday off and went by a couple of body shops with the car. Strouds said it was more of a challenge than they wanted to tackle. I think I've settled on 6th Ave Autobody. Scott Martinson seems like he has the knowledge and experience to take on the project. In addition to being a production autobody shop he has an interest in custom and specialty cars. Unfortunately, there are a lot of stress cracks in the whole front of the car. It can be pieced back together but it would be best to try and fine a new front end. I need to try and identify the kit manufacturer and see if "replacement parts" are available. I am going to put together some photos and start another thread and ask for some help identifying the body manufacturer.
Thanks for your help, Mike |
