Default Stainless Specialty Muffler Modification

I made this Youtube video for a fellow club member in Switzerland and thought my NW budies would like to give a listen. If you have not heard these they are about 25% louder than stock, but much more throaty. They also have a 3" I.D. Vs. stock 2" which destroys HP. Ray Franscisco did a awsome job welding mine into place. Thanks again Ray!

Default Muffler modifications

Hi Jake

Thanks a lot for the video (also for the one at idle). It sounds really great and I think with punch the throttle, it is louder for sure. I haven't know that you just have changed the muffler. How loud will be the complete Side pipe?

But I think I will try it anyway. Maybe I can just put in some steel wool (I'm not sure if that is the right word) so that I can reduce the loudness a little bit without making a restriction for the engine.

It's very helpful for me to get these inputs from you. I very appreciate that.

Best regards from todays rainy Switzerland.
Urs

Hey Jake,

I like the way you captured the 30MPH sign in your video just as you press on the "loud pedal"

Drive carefully,
Randy...

Jake and I have the same mufflers on our cars. I went with the complete Stainless Specialties side pipes since my pipes had cracks in them, and Jake went with just the mufflers welded into his existing pipes.

At idle and normal acceleration, they are just mildly louder than the stock pipes. However, when you romp on it, they are considerably louder.

On our trip to Sun Mountain Lodge this year, there were 5 of us in a row. Jake was first, I was last. I'm a good 800 to a 1000 feet behind Jake when he flat footed it to pass a car. I could hear it back where I was, and my hearing sucks.

The next day we went for another ride, and Steve was behind me. When I went to pass a car, it scared the crap out of Steve it was so loud.

Personally I think they are considerably louder than the stock pipes when you are at full throttle.

However, I would never go back to the stock mufflers.

One of our Cascade Cobras club members has stainless pipes on his big block ERA and I really like the raspy overtones to the exhaust note. He's also somewhat louder than my 428 with conventional ceramic coated pipes. If I ever have to replace mine that's what I'll go with.

Hi DonC

Do you know what brand the stainless steel sidepipes are?

Thanks in advance for your feedback
Best regards from Switzerland.
