Central Ohio Chapter-Ohio Cobra Club
O.K. Guys and Gals:
In the interest of getting the Central Ohio Chapter organized and off the ground, I would like to volunteer my services as president of the chapter--barring alternatives and other volunteers! I believe we need to do this for a couple of reasons-(1) I want to go to Germaine Ford to ask for support for our meetings (use their facilities) and because they are an SVO/SVT shop. (2) I don't want to get behind the power curve with DV Spring Fling II in terms of helping Ed with whatever he needs us to do. Please let me know your interest and concerns. |
Frank,
Thanks for the offer to lead this pack of rebel Central guys! Sounds good to me, provided the rest of the group is for it as well. Hey Central guys, is Frank our man? How 'bout it? Hey, with Aaron eyeing the state leader role, we could have a monopoly! Hopefully, everyone will post their opinions here. Wishing everyone a better week.:) Dave |
Ok
Sounds like we have folks stepping up to the challege. Frank and Aaron have my votes. bc |
Frank,
Sounds marvelous! Thanks for volunteering. We all know I can use all the help I can get!:3DSMILE: DV Ps... still without a running Cobra:( |
Central Ohio Chapter
All:
FWIW I had occaision to go to Germain Ford (Columbus' newest Ford dealer) They're an SVO/SVT shop. I spoke with the general manager--they ( management and staff, mechanics, customers et al) came out to look at SPF #725. I asked the GM about supporting us and DVSF II. He said he thought they would do it and would let me know. I asked him if it would be possible for us to use their facilities for meetings etc and he again said he thought so. I think we're lining up a prospective supporter here. Stay tuned! News at eleven! |
Frank,
Sounds great! Are these the guys that bought the Dick Ruhl dealership on Sawmill? Perhaps some Saturday, a group of us could rumble in there and really get 'em excited! Let me know if there is anything I can do to help. How does everyone feel about this? There is a web site called Ohiocarclubs.com, and they list car clubs, cruise events, shows, etc.. I would like to list our club on there, as another means of getting the word out. Everybody ok with that? Check out the site, and let me know! And, it's FREE!:D I'd be happy to set it all up. Ok, back to work.... Dave |
Fantastic!
I think Dave has a great idea. Can we set up a meeting with the GM? Bring a bunch of the cars? Hell, I'll even bring him a T-shirt. On the other hand I did speak to Krieger Ford last fall. The new one on the west side of Columbus, and he too showed some interest. I just never followed up. I know, shame on me! But we do need to get a Local Dealership involved. The good news is....Ta-daaaa, I finally got my block-crank-rods, etc. out of the machine shop yesterday! Maybe the Mrs. & I can still get a ride this year! Sure has been a long, long time. Call me if there is anything I can do! DV 740-852-5280 |
Hey DV,
Hope this is the last time you see all the shiny inside stuff for that V-10!%/ If you need extra hands to get her fired, let me know. I'd be happy to help if needed. No man should be without his Cobra for so long.:( And remember, give those bearings a good moly bath! Dave:D |
Central Ohio Chapter--Update
Dudes and Dudettes:
Spoke with THE general manager of Germain (yes, it used to be Dick Rhul)Ford. (The guy I spoke with in my last post was the service manager). He is very amenible to working with us on anything mutually beneficial. He mentioned he wants to have a car show next summer and bring in all sorts of Fords. I told him we'd be happy to support with a gaggle of Cobras. He also mentioned that the Germain family is very generous with contributions to various chaitable organization in central Ohio. I left with the feeling that we may have a win-win relationship going here. I told him I would stay in touch and let him know what is happening with us (Central Ohio) and OCC. Stay tuned. P.S. Dave-If you will, can you drop that roster off at the golf course. I can pick it up there. Steve sent it to me E-mail but it won't convert for some reason. Thanks |
All,
Thanks for the efforts--we still need to set the date for the January meeting--Hopefully Germain Ford will join in-- What if they had the show the same week end as the fling? Maybe a Saturday evening get togeather--?? Steve continues to work on the shirts and other accessories-- It's raining and getting cold--It'll be up on jacks pretty soon. Mike |

Central Ohio Chapter--Update
Hey Y'all:
Do you think we ought to have a Chapter meeting before the State meeting in January? Let me know what your desires are. (other than winning the lottery and a date with Heather Locklear or Brad Pitt) |
Frank,
I think a Central meeting would be a great idea. Perhaps we could all rumble into Germaine Ford, let them see who they are dealing with!:D Dave P.S. There is a show in Sunbury tomorrow(Sunday), not sure if I'm going, just wanted to throw it out if any are interested. |
