NBC will do a spot for us, need cars!

Talked with Gail Hogan at NBC 4. She said if we could get some cars out to the station they would do a noon show segment plugging the event. Soooooooooo, we need cars! I was thinking that Wednesday or Thurday (19 or 20)would be best so that people don't forget about us. We would have to pick a day where the weather will be nice if NBC is willing to be that accomidating. I would imagine that we would go to the NBC studios on Olentangy River Road. Who ever is dealing with Cystic Fibrosis should get them to show up with a spokes person for the segment.

Let me know who can show up!

Thursday would be doable for me, but not Wednesday. Any chance they would do something earlier, like several weeks prior, to start building interest??

I just got off the phone with Alyce from CF and she is giong to contact Gail, as Gail requested, and make the arrangements. As soon as the arrangements have been made I will let everyone know.

I think it important to make a good showing. Six cars at least. Show NBC and the public that we are serious. Like most segments I don't expect to get more than a minute or two of air time but we may generate more interest in the local NBC staff and then get more coverage and maybe even participation.

I will be in town and can bring the Unique over. Sorry for the delay in not volunteering. I was not sure of my schedule. Also, I believe Joe Malone will be available with his SPF. Whatever i can do ple let me know.

Alyce from CF just called and we are on! Gail Hogan from NBC asked that we bring 3-4 cars (I am sure that a couple more won't be an issue) to the studio on Monday June 17 for a 3-4 minute segment on the noon news. CF will bring a spokes person.

We need to be there NO LATER than 12:15. I am planning on noon sharp. Lets pray for good weather! I don't know what we will do if the weather is bad. DV, got any 'ins' with the weather gods?

I am leaving for vacation tomorrow, Thursday June 6, and will not be back until very late on June 15. I will get in touch with DV that Sunday and see where we stand.

We got NBC to do this for us, now we must show for them.

The studio is located at 3165 Olentangy River Road very near Riverside Hospital in Columbus off of SR 315. Phone number is 263-4444.

Get off 315(north or south) on olentangy river road and head south. The studio is less then a mile down the road.

From 71 N: 71, 270 west to 315 south.
From 71 S: 71 to 315 north.
From 70 E or W: to 315 north.

Seems that NBC really wants only four cars. Mine, DV and ???

DV was going to talk to Alyce this afternoon. I am sure he will post some sort of notification about the number of cars they will take. If they will only take four, lets give them four!

Please don't make it to tough on DV about who goes and who doesn't while I am sunning myself, deep sea fishing and scuba diving in SC!

The guy has enough to worry about!

Hey, Just a thought. One of you who are at the NBC studio's keep a radio with them. When the interview starts, notify all the others who wanted to go and have them do a verbal drive by on Olentangy R. road. I'll bet the cameraman couldn't help but to get a quick shot of a dozen or so Cobras cruising past. Just a thought.
