Default What gives folks?

Looking for some response here. Please post what ever you think.

Am I drawing a line in the sand? Laying out the gauntlet, perhaps. What we would really like to know is why do we have get togethers and hardly any one shows?

To busy? Think you have to bring to Cobra to share in comradery? Not interested in the venues? To frequent? Hibernating? Just because it is winter?

At first everyone was very gung ho about the Club. Think about the attendance we had at the first two gatherings! There was even talk about a legal entity. Which seems humorious in a sad sort of way at the moment.

So what is it folks? What do you want? It is a shame to see such a great group of people not gather to enjoy each other and our common bond.

Rick ~ maybe having the event/meeting on a week night hurt. That was my main reason for not attending + the hour drive on a week night......winter is my busy time of year although my weekends are not as hectic. On the other hand, maybe the other guys have weekend/family responsibilities.....hard to say until we get some feedback on the subject.

I am all for cobra related get togethers but as you can see it is hard to pick a particular date that everyone is available.

I plan on attending next weekends AutoRama in Cleveland and hope to see some cobras and owners.

Brian

p.s. who was faster??????

Cool

I think you raise some valid questions, Rick. It has seemed interest has slowed way down lately. As for me, as I mentioned earlier, week night events were/are not likely for me. Not that I don't want to attend, just doesn't fit my schedule. And, living out here in BFE is also a factor. I generally avoid cities whenever possible! Ok, call me anti-social. Regardless, it seems everyone is sort of on their own schedules, which is fine. We should just understand events will be "come if you can" status. Hey, now that I'm Cobra-less, I'll probably be banished anyway! Speaking of such, Dale(Artic Snake) should pull "his" Cobra off the barge in Anchorage a week from today. The transaction went well, and he is one excited puppy! Rich, from Rich's Transport, couldn't be any easier to work worth. I would recommend him to anyone with long distance car hauling needs. My first Cobra-less support group meeting is next week, and I'm sure I'll be fine afterwards...

Hoping that ownership is not a requirement for OCC,
Dave

Default Thanks for the input

Hoping for more from others.

The events are come if you can. I would think that ownership not be a requirement. I did not have a car for the first two meetings. I joined up to learn.

We now have two people that say week nights are an issue for them. How about the rest of you????

Dave, when are we going to hear about whats next?

Default Rick calm down

We have talked about this very thing most people were interested in a club to a point, and I think we have found the point . I was genuinly interested in the club for something other than my own personal gain.{ I even offered to get the club started} I am still interested in the club even though I have my own bussiness that I run and all of the other obligations that many of us have {children, grass to mow, drives to shovel and so on} I think we are on the right path with the get togethers we are having and as we have more interest we can look at having another get together on the weekend day\night. I am really looking forward to having fun with all of the Cobra owners not just the Superformance guys . ( who are going to Las Vegas in Febuary as a group for fun) I am just as excited to do this as I was a Year ago and am looking forward to many fun get togethers and car shows.
I think that it would be a great waste of resorces to not get such a great group of people with such simular intrests together.
With that being said I am willing to keep on trying .
Perseverence will prevail!!!!

Default Calm I am, bit frustrated to

Is monthly to much? Bi-monthly? Want to try a weekend?

Can't wait for spring. I had better get busy on my winter projects if I want to be ready for it though.

Guys,
If their is still an interest, and I know there is, the Mrs. has whole heartedly offered our living room again! Or the little family owned restaurant in town told me they would still let us have the run of the place on a Sunday if you would like to do that. (Before the meeting got changed last year, they were going to open for just us on Sunday)

If it's time to dump the winter doldrums, elect new officers for next year, or just a get together, we're ready!

Don't know about you guys in the frozen north but down here we have a decent turnout every month. We meet on weekends Sat or Sun, usually on short notice, and have 15 to 20 people show up. I've only been involved in DSCC a short time and hope the enthusiasum continues.

Lightbulb O yea the weekend.

Well I am up for a good time no matter which day it is but the weekends work well for me too. Lets pick a weekend day/night to get together. Lunch/dinner/brunch{ I like food } and some bench racing . Don't forget to bring some pics of your babys{ the octane burning kind} and plenty of good stories.
so feel free to chime in with location suggestions or even some fun activity ( as long as it involves food and fast cars) for our next WEEKEND get together.
Aaron
