Nelson Ledges Fun Days
Nelson Ledges race track has open track dates throughout the summer and fall called fun days. Show up with your snake, have a approved helmet, and 100 bucks and run your car all day. It is not a competetive event. You can only pass on the straights for safety reasons. I did it last fall and had a ball. This is definately what our cars were built for. Check the Nelson Ledges web site or call them for the fun days dates. Maybe we can get a few guys together and try it.

Are any of the "Fun Dates" coincide with DVSF III?

Just to clairfy a few things- you need to check with your insurance agent to see if your regular driving insurance covers driving on a race track. Mine doesn't. Also, I'm not sponsoring a day, nor is any club I know of because of the liability. We'd need to go indivdually at our own risk. The post I put up there is for information only.

Gary,
I wasn't trying to imply that you were sponsoring a race event. Most of us that have taken their cars to these type events know the rules and restrictions. My only interest was wheather or not one of the Fun Days could be bridged with the DVSF III.
Just FYI, one of the Shelby Clubs here in Tulsa sponsors a 4 day event in June that includes 3 days of road racing on a 1.5 mile track and 1 day at the drag races. All that is required from the participants are: certified helmet, functional roll bar, seat belts, and be able to pass tech. plus $125.00 per day.
Again my appologies for any mis-understanding.
Clois
