OCC Car Show
O.K. OCC:
We're finalizing the details of the 1st Annual OCC Car Show at Anderson's General Store, 7000 Bent Tree Bl, Columbus, OH on June 12th 2004 to raise funds for the Ohio Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. All Aboard!! So far we have Anderson's on board. We also have a DJ who's family has been devestated by CF-an Aunt, cousins and so on. CF of Ohio is on board. DV has most generously pitched in with trophies. Volunteers to help out so far have been as follows: Dave Shaw Jack & Judy (oldman) Rick Dorman (none but the head honcho) Mike Braatz Dale & wife Casaleenie Hotfingers (Jack is that you?) DV (hopefully with DV raffle car) Alyce Elbert & ass'ts (CF) Judie Hayes (my spouse, bless her Cobra hating soul) Also on board, a consessionaire for food. Yet to be resolved--goodie bags. Get on board now!!! |
The bad news...
The "DV" has to be in Springfield this weekend. I know. we can blame Jr! ;) Oh, yes...he'll love that! DV...Good news,I have some trophy's that need a home! |

I'm going to try to attend the cruise in this Friday night at the Wal Mart Parking lot on 23 just north of Polaris Pkwy. Do you have flyers that I could hand out there for our upcoming event? You could e-mail me a document and I can make the copies. Dale |

Great! Registration starts at 3pm and the show starts at 5pm. I don't think I can get there before 6, since I have to work. I posted the details that I copied from another site in another thread here on OCC. See you there. Dale |

Missed you at the show. There was one other Cobra, a Shell Valley that the owner was trying to sell. I left a little after 8:00pm, so I don't know how the judging went. If you want more info on Jet Performance, let me know. I also have before and after photos of the carb that I could post if you are interested. Dale |

Didn't make the show!! Humongous accident before Rt 315 on I-270 kept traffic tied up for hours. It took me 11/2 hrs to go about 5 mi. Sorry 'bout that. Frank SPF # 725 |

I spoke with Johnny Valdez at Jet Performance (714-848-5500). I got the stage 3 for about $350. I posted before and after photos in my gallery here on CC for you to see. I had them leave the choke lever even though the choke tower and choke is gone, so that I can have a fast idle when the engine is cold. After they receive your carb, they will call you and discuss what you want done. You will also need to provide them with details on your engine, including cam specs. They did a great job. The carb even has a nicer finish. Dale |

This may be a duplicate posting but just to make sure, The show starts @ 9AM. I'll need people to register. I plan shifts to do that. Judie (my significant other-wife) will help. CF will have a table and sell 50/50 tickets. I'm picking up the trophies which DV most generously donated, this week and I'll also pick up raffle tickets for the donor car. If you like, you can MC the show, raffle, work with the DJ, etc. Your choosing. I don't know what I'm doing so any advice is most appreciated. I have no idea as to numbers of cars. My best guesstimate is 50-80. Hopefully more. Your friend may be able to help with parking as the lot is sort of small but can accomodate that number of cars. Last minute coordination w/Anderson's is tomorrow. I'll post any details tomorrow night. Thanks for all you do! Frank SPF # 725 |

If you want to be there right at 9, then you probably will be a little chilly. Although, this week is looking toasty - 90 tomorrow! Are you right in Wadsworth? I mapped your ZIP and I don't think you're 90 minutes from me. Once you get to 71, you are 45 minutes (at 60MPH) from McD's. If you are going 70+, you are about 40 minutes from McD's. If you want to meet there at 8 (Lexington McD's, that is...) I'd recommend leaving right around 7 assuming you're 15-20 minutes from I-71. Quick breakfast, and we'd be at Anderson's by 9:30 or so... I won't be at McD's as I do not like the bacon and egg biscuit. I am a sausage McMuffin with Egg kind of guy. I must have one before every Solo II event I go to. :JEKYLHYDE
