Aluminum welding and radiators
As part of replacing my radiator and being to cheap to pay Griffin $450 to make one custom for me I purchased a generic radiator by Griffin from Jegs in the same dimensions as my old. When I took it down to my favorite radiator shop to be modified they told me they don't do aluminum and sent me to Ohio Trailer (formerally Dicks) on Westerville road. I looked at them like they where crazy.
Ohio Trailer made up mounting brackets according to my template, welded them on and welded shut the hole left by the filler neck which was removed. The welds looked every bit as good as the ones from Griffin and the price was very reasonable. Plus it was done in one day. First rate job.
Come to find out the guy there, Gary, used to own Buxton radiators. He can build or modify what ever you want and even put A/C, custom built of course, in a Cobra.
So if you need some welding, give them a try. Who would have thought. Radiator work at a trailer shop!
