Default Mid-Ohio details

Since the crash, I thought I would get these going again!

We met with Mid-Ohio Sport Car Course last night and we have the details you have been waiting for! This schedule is subject to change (not likely by much). It will be a couple of weeks until Mid-Ohio is ready to take your reservations. When you do make your reservations with Mid-Ohio, just let them know you are part of the London Cobra Show group and they will get you in the right slot. We will let you know when Mid-Ohio is ready to take reservations.

Tuesday June 20, 2006
- at the track and ready to go by 7:30
- 8 - 9:45 track time! During this time they will classify you into three groups according to your experience
- Class time and instruction
- 12:15 to 1:45, back to the track!
- off track activities that could include a combination of instruction, drills, skid car, skid pad, autocross, etc
- 6 - 9, back to the track!

You are going to sleep well Tuesday night!

Wednesday June 21, 2006
- at the track and ready to go at 7:30
- 8-10, track time
- in between, who knows! We may have some special guests speak )
- 12:15 - 1:15, you guessed it, more track time!

After that it is back to the hotels to clean up followed by a gathering that we are putting together (more on that later). The Grand-Am racers and all the supporting classes will be coming in as we are getting ready to leave the track so you can check that out as well.

- Cost: $300 per driver, guests are permitted to join you. As a comparison, their day long lapping program, using your car, is $675 so $300 for two days is cheap!
- Rain or shine
- Trailer and semi parking will be available at the track for both days. We will be in the inner paddock area.
- Open to Cobras, GT40's and Daytona Coupes
- If you do not have a hard top, you must have a roll bar!
- Bring your helmet
- They will give you a safety checklist to go over and it is your responsibility to check those items. They are basic, such as remove loose articles from the trunk and cockpit, air up your tires, that sort of thing.
- Check with your insurance agent. This IS a driving school so many companies will cover you in case the unlikely happens. Mine does ) But it is run at your own risk.
- No passengers will be permitted on the track
- Instructors may ride with you on track but that is up to their discretion
- SPOTS ARE LIMITED. There will be a max of 80 cars and they will put you on a waiting list after that
- You will register and pay Mid-Ohio, not us!
- There will be track concession open for food and drink (leave the alcohol at the hotel!)
- Three run groups
- We have blocked rooms for you so that we can all be together only minutes from the track. Check www.londoncobrashow.com under the Mid-Ohio Track Event link for details. MUST be booked before May 19 at the hotels.

Remember, these folks do this for a living! They will make your experience as safe and enjoyable as possible.

Default Requirements for Mid-Ohio

I asked Mid-Ohio what the requirements are for the school June 20 and 21. Here is their respsonse:

1. All participants must bring their own helmet.
2. Over inflate your tires by 5 lbs. each.
3. If your car is a soft top or convertible you must have a roll bar that extends above the height of a helmet.
4. Please complete all standard maintenance checks on your car such as checking all fluid levels and make sure tires and brakes are in good condition.
5. Clothing should be comfortable (shorts are OK) and you must wear closed toed shoes – no sandals.
6. Gas will be available for purchase on site.
7. All participants must sign the damage to participant vehicle waiver that we will provide.

If you have any questions, you can reach Mid-Ohio at 1-877-793-8667

Just got my news letter from Mid Ohio...
"Mid-Ohio Repaved and Raring to Go"
Sounds like the track will be in top condition!

A little over two months to go. Can't wait!

I ran the MINI last weekend at a HPDE on Mid Ohio, the new surface is fantastic, and very smooth, although being fresh suraface it was at times a little slick due to the oils coming out. There is also a new configuration after turn 1 looping across to the back straight.

All concrete patches are gone, all new curbs in place. Should be great by the time we get there as it will be more cured
