Original hoses ....GATES?

Hey guys

Looking for origional style heter hoses, am I correct that gates were origional for all the hoses in the engine bay? Heater, trans cooler etc.

Where can I get it by the foot?

Unfortunately I don't know where to find original style Gates heater hose.

However, send 428Street a PM he just might know, or know something that looks pretty close. He has done a tremendous amount of research into original style / period correct parts for Cobras.

Since a lot of these parts came out of the ford parts bin, you may be able to use repro mustang items in their places.

When in doubt, I use modern hose and wipe off the mfr marks with lighter-fluid.

I'm just guessing here, but it helps to think about how these cars were made to determine originality. I would guess that the hoses were already on the cars when they arrived at Shelby American, and as such they were probably of UK origin.

No tranny coolers on any of the original Cobras unless they had an automatic tranny, which were few and far between. And I'm not sure those had one either.......

As I said, this is all a guess.....
