Vintage street and race Cobras
Guys ... back before Christmas , I posted that a friend of mine had a bunch of pictures he had taken of Cobras at the Savannah , GA , Road Atlanta and Daytona track back in 1965 to 1970 . Of course I said no ..... not really !
Finally figured out my new scanner and with lots of help from Computerworks , now know how to put them in my gallery ... thanks Ron .
If anyone is interested , there are 30 photos from " back in the day " in my gallery. FWI ... in the newspaper article on Tombstone winning the VIR Cup ... I`m the guy standing at the rear of the F/P Sunbeam Alpine that a friend of mine raced that weekend . I had a Regional license and couldn`t run that SCCA National event .... but got to see Shaw run !

Bob,
Fantastic shots. You might consider giving copies to SAAC to see if they can be ID'd. I bet the current owners of these cars would love to add these to the provenance of their cars. Or maybe one of the good museums like the one in Boulder CO.
Just a thought. Once an old snapshot, and now a piece of history.

Dean .... the photo of Graham Shaw is also a favorite of mine ... and you are dead on about a simpler time . When I started racing ( E/P Porsche ) , you could drive your car to the track , pull the muffler , tape the headlights etc and not be too embarrassed .... and I drove it home . When I left the SCCA , I had a car that wouldn`t idle under 1500 rpm , racing suspension , shift point was 6500 and it had to be trailered everywhere .
Kurtmart , Computerworks ... thanks for the tip . I sent an e mail to SAAC and have a reply .... Rick Kopek wants a disc of the photos .

The single axle trailer is very symbolic of the times as well...Can you imagine pulling up with your Cobra on one of these today? Was probably pulled by a station wagon too!
