Avaid oil pan connections
Need some help here with my Avaid oil pan.
I have 2 holes in the front, one being the drain on the right and another that is plugged on the left. I also have 2 stems on the front passenger side.
What are all of these for?
Is the other front threaded hole for the Lucas mechanical temp sensor or am I supposed to run that somewhere else? If so where?
I think the larger stem on the left is for the oil vapor canister feedback used on the SC cars???
Help me out
Thanks

I used the hole on the bottom right ( driver side ) of the pan for my oil temp. sensor and the one on the left for the oil drain plug . The two stems on the pass. side are for the oil dipstick tube connection and , I believe the other is for what you think it is .... oil vapor canister drainback . That`s also the way ERA sets things up on their turn key cars .

Hey Dan, you're close drain and temp sender are on front. Temp sender usually pass side I think. The two stems are 3/4" to the puke and 3/8" is the dipstick as the hole in the block for the dipstick runs it into the baffles.

No, he means that if you are running the Aviad pan you canNOT run the dipstick in the block as it would dirrect the dipstick into the Aviad's baffles. This means that the block hole would have to be sealed.

And its fun when you figure out that you need to seal that hole after all your machine work is done, the engine is painted and ready for final assembly. So what we did was turn the block on the engine stand so that the hole was facing the floor and slowly ran a tap into the hole, being sure all the tailings came out onto the floor. We then used an allen-head threaded pipe plug to seal it off.

OH CRAP!!!!!
The engine is assembled, painted, went to dyno, and has a dip stick tube in the block.
Oh this will be fun.
I wonder if I can leave that tube in and just cap it off at the top?
