Side Vents - Painted vs Unpainted
After looking through many pictures of CSX2000s and CSX3000s, I've noticed all of the side vents are painted along with the body. I may be incorrect, but I didn't see any that weren't.
After looking through replica photos, I'd say most (>90%) of the cars have the side vents unpainted.
Am I correct in saying that unpainted vents are the owner's choice to deviate from the original - much like 17" wheels, cupholders, multi-speaker stereos, high-backed race seats, etc?
Opinions?

I haven't looked at the photos closely, but are the vents painted on the cars when new, or did a lot of them get later paint jobs that just went over the vent fins? There was a decade or so when Cobras were "meant to get bent" and repairs were not always meticulously made.
Mine are painted body color, but since 707 is silver, it's hard to tell.

Side Vents - Painted vs Unpainted
I think some fibreglass cobra owners like the look of the alloy louvres because they look good and that can lend itself to the fact the originals had alloy bodywork!

Mooch,
I had the same question and I solved the quandary by having (2) sets of vents!
One set was painted with the car, the other is just bare (might paint them silver or have them powder coated).
It's a little different way to change things up from time to time. We'll see how it goes once I get the car.

Original correctness = Painted
Many do seem to have them unpainted. Not correct if you are going for originality but some prefer it this way I guess.
