Hi Tech sure has made some very accurate cars in years past. But accuracy was more sought after in the early days of replicas than it is today. The "modern" replica Cobra's celebrate things like , "modern", bigger, better, cheaper, more reliable, quicker, etc. etc. This new trend often leads many to denigrate those who strive for accuracy, which is to bad. I for one really appreciate an exceptionally well done accurate to detail replica Cobra, while I can still admire a more modern approach as well.

Now THIS 289 Hi Tech would be SO much better with original valve covers, for instance, it has way to much "bling" to be an "exact replica". To many "modern" parts showing through.

It's a High Tech FIA which is no longer in business not to be confused with the other High Tech Cobra manufactures. It was built to replica the original that Reggie Jackson has. I was extremely interested in the car and had a close friend in Phili go see it and although done correctly could of spent more time on the body prep prior to painting especially for the price they are asking. One persons opinion only........I ended up buying a different Cobra today.

Hi-Tech was a true clone builder. I've got the CSX3002 clone that they built in 1997 and the car is a very well done aluminum clone of the real CSX3002 (the first 427 production Cobra). They mirrored the real car down to exact mixture of gauges, dry sump and combination 289 and 427 characteristics. It has many unique features that the real car has. It was displayed at the Monterey Historic races in 1997 with the real CSX3002 and is nearly right on as a clone. Hi-Tech had the ability to build some of the best replicas of the day.
