Rangoon Red paint code?
CC-philes
Does anyone know what paint code Rangoon Red was? Second, was it a single stage paint or multilayer? I presume it was laquer....
Thank you
Jeff

Hi Jeff:
Not sure of the Rangoon Red Paint Code but I'm sure it will look very nice. Maybe I'm biased, CSX 3020 is awesome. Thanks for the pics.

Thanks, Jeff, it's coming along but have a ways to go. I've included another shot, I've got a CCX pedal box coming from Acton Custom to match the S/C dash he provided and some 15" PSE wheels with 6-pin XKE hubs from Cobraracing. Just did the sidepipes from Classic Chambered, lots more power.

Rangoon Red was a standard for color in the 60's -
Probably was a single stage enamel back in the day.

Back to the original question, Ford used two different codes (and slightly different mixes) for Rangoon Red. First code is the most common "J" (62-79) the second was "2V" (also 62-79).......Both (at least in the 60's) were acrylic based single stage paint jobs.....

back in the early 90's when I restored my 65 fastback, I painted it Rangoon Red, we located the paint (PPG) code in some old books, at the time PPG didn't have it listed and crossed referenced it, it came back as a early 90's Toyota color.......
I'm sure your body shop/paint suppler can do the same..........
