The Hole in the hood
Well I am at the point of wrapiong up the body work and stuck on the hood.
The ERA website says there is a 9" x 16" hole cut in the hood offset 1" to the passenger side.
Other dimensions I have received are smaller than that.
I am wondering; are there 2 different size hood cut outs? 1 smaller to fit into the turkey pan in single carbs, and a larger one to fit the dual carbs?
Since I have a FFR my 427FE sits further back than the origionals (i believe) therefore the 9x16 cutout isn't exactly centered around my carbs (see picture). I don't think this will matter as my air cleaners (stealings and healings) don't poke through the hood "into" the scoop area anyway.
What do you guys think?
Was the hole in the origionals made so that the carbe could poke through or was it just a hole to get air around the air cleaners?
Thansk a ton
(red line in picture is where my air cleaners are) the back edge of the cut out hole is right above the screw hold down nut on my rear air cleaner so the rear air cleaner is 1/2 covered under the hood and 1/2 exposed under the hole cut out
