original lucas turn switch on late 289/427's
Hi Gents
Can any one identify the correct part number for the column switch made by Lucas, which incorporated the lights, turn and horn and fitted to the verry last cobras made.
there appears an almost endless number of slightly differnet 119SA lucas switches.
regards
Steve

Perhaps not the info you're seeking, but CSX 3121 had a column switch that controlled turn signals only (lights were via a toggle switch on the dash and the horn was a dash button). I'm also pretty sure that the turn signal switch and lever were a VW part.

Yes, the turn siglnal lever assy was a VW Bug part look at 63-65, they are available on EBAY . Some of the latter had a button on the lever that is use in our applications for the high/lo beams activated through a relay by the switch function.

Actually the VW parts on ebay are usually SWF and the original Cobra part is a Hella which looks identical. I am using the SWF, never found a Hella.... NOS SWF will still cost a few $.
Maybe both were used? Hella are like hens teeth to find........$$$$$$$$$$

The indicator switch was a Lucas 119SA model for the AC289 Sports and 3300 series 427 Cobras. The stamped number on the switch I saw was 35644 which unfortunately is an obsolete switch. The AC factory works was supplying other Lucas switches in the mid 80's which were simular and which they had modified at the terminal ends. Not sure what the part numbers for these switches were. The indicator switch was the same for the Frua and the late Cobras. If you need the wire color codes, drop me an email. Have been trying to find one in the UK but no luck so far.

Thanks Gents
I will do some more digging and try to see if I can put some bits together, as there seems to be so many variants of these switches. it must be possible to find the correct bits to make the correct switch assy.
If any one knows any more details that would help put the correct parts together. Iwould be most grateful.
My assumption, from pictures only, is that I'm looking for a switch similar to the attached picture.
ie 9 wires controlling ....Turn signal, Main and dipped beam, flasher and horn
Arm length , approx 6" long - not sure if it should be straight or bent?
Chrome end cap
and fits inside an early MGB column cowl.
regards Steve

Steve, that pic is for MGB 63-67. I did also find one for 67 to maybe 73 or there abouts.
I'll see if I can find a pic later today.

Yes, I had heard that it was an MGB unit ie a BHA4948 unit with Horn
ie
INDICATOR SWITCH MGB 70-72, EARLY 1275 MIDGET, BHA4948 | eBay
or was this just the steering column cowl....
But am I wrong to think that this switch has a very short, staright stalk.
ie the chrome end does not align with the rim of the steering wheel as shown in Mickmate's picture and would be shown to be parrallel with the dash?
I have found that the unit fitted to the early mk11 Mini is slightly longer and has a small bend that keeps it parrallel with the steering wheel spoke and this fits within the MGB Cowl.
any thoughts?

BP Northwest list this one for 68-70 MGB. Also says "Out of Stock" though.
