Leaf spring 289 wiper motor mount
Can anyone tell me how the wiper motor (DR3) was mounted to the top of the LH footbox? I know XK Jags which used a similar motor had a metal plate fixed to the body to which the motor was mounted using the usual three hex-shaft bolts with rubber insulators.
For the Cobra, was the footbox simply drilled big enough to take the same rubber insulators? It seems too thick for this, but I guess there's every chance the motor was simply bolted to the top of the footbox without any rubber insulators.

Three holes. Rubber washers captured by steel washers both sides of fiberglass.

Thanks Dan. As with the vinyl/carpet thread, I don't know what we'd do without input from guys like you.*

Your welcome.
I don't remember if rubber isolators are a molded grommet or just a flat washer as I haven't had one of those parts loose in my hands since made 1991.

I'd be really grateful if someone with a 2000 series car could stick their head in the footwell and give me a rough idea of the diameter of the rubber/washer on the underside mount.

Brilliant, thanks guys. That sounds like the standard-issue Lucas wiper mounting kit.
