Looks to be in nice shape.
I wonder how many of those back in the day came loose from the sprung steel clip and bounced around in the aluminum trunk wreaking havoc on all the body panels until the owner stopped to figure out what had happened?

Original clips are robust. It is difficult to push the jacks into them. I drive my old black car hard, very hard at times, and never had any indication the jack moved.
(Two of the same part are used for grease guns without the standoff spacers. I don't think they are all that rare as people get them out of the UK fairly often. Auto jumbles in the UK seem to be a good place to get small decades old parts.)

There's a part to replicate; the jack clip.

I think Acton Custom Enterprises may already have them. My wife purchased the smaller clips (identical but smaller) for the grease gun from Nick as a stocking stuffer last Christmas.

Isn't there supposed to be a band that hooks around the two ends of the clip?
I have a foggy memory of a band around that.

I think I've seen these too. If I recall correctly, guys have installed simple rubber O rings to assure nothing gets loose.

As Dan said they are tricky to get in and fit well, they wont come out easily. That jack looks good.

Hi all. Thanks for the comments.
I talked in a previous thread a month or so ago about going to my local british car "stockist" and he came out of his secret back room with this jack. Needless to say I grabbed it. Cleaned up real nice.
I considered the clips from Nick but XK's Unlimited was local so I got the clips from them and yes, the clips fit tightly but I have seen pics where a rubber o-ring is looped around the ends of the clip.
Cheers
Greg

By the way, another source for different size clips of this type is Springmasters in the UK.

Wow, you were very lucky. A 12DL jack with a curved saddle commands big money these days.
Most specialists (XKs etc.) seem to offer standard s/s clips these days, which although cheap don't look quite like the one Dan has pictured. The standard hardware shop type is shown in my427cobra's first picture. Does anyone make the sturdier-looking one shown in Dan's pic?
