Default The tool kit again: the screwdriver

So to keep the conversations going on the tool kit and specifically the BDS red handled screwdriver originally supplied in the Cobra 427 (and maybe the 289):

I bought on e-bay and just recieved a screwdriver that was represented as a "Cobra screwdriver" (see the first pic). Nice but seems a little small and the handle doesn't seem the right shape where it "tulips" to the shaft.

The second pic shows a screwdriver I bought from e-bay Australia which is NOS WWII vintage which has a phillips tip (which I will modify to a blade tip).
It looks closer in size and shape to the BDS screwdriver shown in earlier posts.

Any comments from those more knowledgable on the screwdriver?

Cheers
Greg

I think your red one looks very close in size and colors. I see the bulb behind the ferrule looks more round rather than the tapered and more exaggerated shape I have seen. It looks really close to me.

Thanks for the response mickmate.

I'll post a few more pics a little later. I'll position the screwdrivers next to the Thor hammer and compare it to the attached pic of the 289 tool kit.

Here are a couple of pics of my two screwdrivers next to a Thor hammer to compare to the pics in the above posted 289 tool kit.

The red handled screwdriver looks a little small while the natural handled screwdriver looks closer to the right size.

I'd get some red paint out, I like the bulb shape on that one too.

Thanks mickmate. I accept the challenge: finding the right color red. LOL

Cheers
