104 marked stems were used with several different glass clamp designs and finishes. (427 Cobra used a different stem as standard.) The roughly triangular
chrome plated clamps were used on early Cobras. By the time the last CSX25XX car was made AT LEAST two (2) more and maybe more clamp / back of mirror
coatings were used.
Look long enough and you will find assemblies that use curved glass. I have no idea what cars used the curved glass variation.
Buyers have been fooled by "103" stems for sale loose. When sold separately the buyer won't notice that while they look like they are "104s" they are significantly shorter.
