Default Glove Box Locks Being Remanufactured

AH Spares is now remanufacturing the glove box door lock for the Austin-Healey 3000 Mk III, which is the same lock as the Cobra: http://www.ahspares.co.uk/austin-hea...LOCK-KEYS.aspx AH Spares is a quality company that was begun by Fred Draper, the former spares manager of Donald Healey Motors and I've been a satisfied customer of theirs for more than 30 yrs.

I have reached out to a couple of Austin parts suppliers over the past few months in the hopes of finding correct seat tracks and Leveroll knobs for the Cobra (Same as on the Austin DB4 from what I am told). I was contacted by Antony Forshaw of Aston Service who does have the knobs (unfortunately no seat tracks) but he also told me he has the correct glove box door locks. I have a comp dash so no interest to me but I thought I would pass the information along:

Screw the Cobras and Healeys, now you can properly restore your Nash Metropolitan!

Yup! Er... Austin Metropolitan, if you don't mind...

Locks are good, but the keys are wrong and there's no number on the barrel.

Default Extra lock insert (glove box)

On the glove box locks, my understanding were only used on the car with the 289 Engine. I am a source for the wilmot breeden keys stamped UNION. Past orders, appears the FS 955 key for the ignition switch and the FP 677 for the trunk lock. I would be interested in any spare parts. The small chrome screw with the glove box locks get lost and is something I try to source in the past.
Kind regards, Pete Groh Ellicott City MD USA

Jeff is correct... this is about right for the repop. I have a couple of originals with the correct keys and they are much more expensive! I think I saw one recently sell for nearly $400...

Pete is a straight shooter, and has the correct keys...

The glove box from A.H. Spares LDT did not fit my Superformance Mark III. The glove box door is to thick. I have one 25% off list if anyone is interested.
