Default 427 Oil cooler housing

Does anyone have any good pics of the original oil cooler housing? I plan to have a go at making one in the near future and want to be as close to original as my skill level will permit.

I have some pics, but it seems to me that Shelby changed the design on the continuation series compared to CSX3XXX series.

I have got various pics, including the one in the Rinsey Mills book. But none seem to show the area just to the side of the oil cooler housing itself. On Continuation cars it seems that the potential aperture between the rad and the nose to the side of the oil cooler housing is filled with a single piece of horizontal ali with a 1" or so lip thats rivetted along at the bottom of the radiator assembly. On older cars it seems this was a different design.

Kewin, in Old Hampshire, I have a drawing of that oil cooler housing from CSX4000 somewhere in storage.
Remind me to look for it... - or ask Mickmate.

Thanks for that guys.

So my question is:
is there any metalwork to the side of the shroud, directly under the radiator itself? It looks to me on some of the pics that there is some ali sheet that goes directly under the rad, pop rivitted presumable to some lower piece of frame under the radiator.

The front part of the shroud sits on top of the oil cooler, directing air in seperatetely from the radiator. The rear is mounted to the bottom of the radiator.

The big holes in Nick's pic are for the oil lines. The duct needs to be trimmed to fit to your body shape on the sides. As does the radiator shround to force all air through the radiator.

It it was any harder to explain I would add a pic... (which I don't have)

In essence: The radiator gets cold air and the oil cooler gets cold air. Either air flow won't interfere with each unit, nor can it escape to the sides or bottom.

Hi Kevin, yes there is a panel either side. It is a rectangular shape with an S shaped bottom edge to match the body shape where the oil cooler bulge is.

For your hose and fitting any speed shop should be able to assist (Russel, Earls).

Hi Redcar,

What Cobra do you have? I'm not far away in Lutterworth.
