Default Stelling & hellings air cleaner decals

What is the correct placement of the Stelling & Hellings decals on the 427 street roadster dual 4bbl with the 8" air cleaners?

Outer ring of the air cleaner top, middle ring or inner ring?

Did both air cleaners have the decal or just the leading air cleaner top?

So many questions!!!!!!!

Cheers
Greg

Good question. I put mine towards the center because that is what I saw in a lot of the original photos of Cobras that I found in books and on line.

But Mickmate noted in one of his responses to an update on my build thread that I had the stickers placed incorrectly. But he didn't elaborate.

I was looked through a lot of old 60s magazine Cobra road tests and Colin Comer's books just last week while I was iced in and again, the old, period photos appear to show the stickers in the center area near the top nut.

But, I also see photos with the stickers on the outer edge of the air cleaner, so I don't know for sure. A lot of the photos with the stickers on the outer edge seem to be more recent photos or photos of restored cars.

So, maybe your question will shed some more light on this.

On the single 4bbl and on the 2 x 4, I have at least 5 old magazine testing articles, with at least 3 different 427 cars, and one test of a single 4 bb.

All decals are on the inner ring, close to the acorn nut, and are on all air cleaner lids.
