Default 60's sbf weber pre-production intake

I have an intake I bought a while back from an older fellow (he was in his late 70's I'd guess) that he had on his shelf for over 40 years. He said he got the preproduction intake back in the early 60's because he was building air boxes for the cobras and needed one. It was a bit dirty and definitely looked like it had been sitting for a long time, but cleaned up great with hot soap and water. As you can see its never been drilled for carbs or engine mounting holes.

I'm considering selling it but really don't know what to value it at now. Repops are available for what...$7-800? Are they really close to the originals? I never wanted to use it but with some work it could be, it has been a great conversation piece in my office however. Thoughts?

I think it would be a great conversation piece for my shop.

I think the OP will be disappointed with the offers on this beautiful piece of wall art

That bad huh? So I might as well finish it and use or sell it that way?

It would cost more to finish it than it's worth. The way it is now, it has a nice back story. If you decide to sell it, I'd make you an offer privately for "shop art".

It would just cost me time...and a few beers to pay my buddy to do it at his shop. I'd prefer not to, but I've had it long enough and won't give it away if the way it currently is isnt worth much.

Shoot me an offer...all I can say is no.
